Yes. It's one of my only regrets with the truck. The factory seats are seriously low budget kit - even the leather ones (which I do not have).

My plan is to take a pair of sport seats out of a wrecked BMW M3 and fit them once the warranty is done on the truck. They are very low to the floor, flat bottomed and all the motor controls are inside the seat so should be an easy fit both physically and electrically. I will need to use the airbag sensors from my Toyota seats, and wire some controls for the heaters but otherwise I expect they are no trouble and a massive improvement.

For me, leather was a bonus for me with the 2018s, which is the main reason I passed on the 2017s even though they were offering great deals on them towards the end of the year. I think it makes the truck feel more like what I paid for it and it's much easier to clean when it comes to my pup. Quality-wise, the leather is not fitted as nice as I would like it to be but I think it may just need time to break-in. Oh, the seat warmers are awesome!

4Runner seats are actually real nice. Especially the Premium models with the faux leathers. Again, I don't care for leathers, but they were very comfortable. Plus, a huge benefit: I can lower the seats to get some better head room. I would love it if someone were to fab up some mounting brackets to make 4Runner seats work in a Tacoma.

I always put a nice cheap seat cover on all my new vehicles. My 03 Taco still had the cheap covers from Walmart, I just got some pretty nice padded seat covers form Costco, $25 for my 17 Taco and changed the 03 ones too and the 03 seats still looked new after 14yrs! Cheap insurance......

I have always liked leather more than cloth, just because it is easier to clean.

Leather seats in my BMW kinda sucked, super hot in the summer, super cold in the winter. Plus leather overtime hardens and cracks. Cloth is kinda better imo

I think heated and cooled cloth seats are probably the best option. I don't plan on having any babies or fur babies in my truck, so no worries on that.

I got the cloth with the factory heated seats. For the 2017 models, leather was only available with the pro and limited models. I hated the look of the grey fabric, I ordered the clazzio seat covers. They look and feel pretty good. There's a huge thread on Clazzio seats, they offer a heated seat option if you want to mess with the wiring.

Had leather in my Accord. Never again. Hot as a skillet in the summer, cold as the dark side of the moon in the winter. F that.

Leather seats are the tits. But leather covers are good too.

If you end up regretting the cloth, covers solve that for the most part. Some look pretty legit.

I put seat covers on so it doesn’t matter what the seat material is. Mine are clothe. And have heat. And are all covered. Love the heat, setting three will really fry your ass

A few listed in the signature
Had cloth in an Acura EL (loved it), leather in my Acura TSX (pain to maintain so it wouldn't crack or show wear, plus always hot or cold), leather in the BMW X3 (very nice and comfortable, miles ahead of the Acura, but still overly hot and overly cold.

Purposely picked the TRD Offroad with heated seats for this one. No regrets, just Scotchgard the living crap out of them. Even coffee doesn't stain it.

Normally I’d say cloth over leather, especially in a truck where people have a tendency to slide down and out of the seat and wear the bolster.

However, cloth Tacoma seat fabric is garbage unless you gently maneuver yourself in and out of the truck and wear slacks with no wallet in your back pocket.

16k miles and I already have a light wear pattern around the spot of my right butt cheek where my wallet is. And no, I don’t have a George Costanza wallet either..
