Well I have 600 that Id like to keep but if it needs done I don’t really have a choice.

 

I'd go ahead and replace it if it can't be aligned correctly. If not you should be good until you hear popping every time you're turning at slow speed. Then it's getting to be dead

 

Wire knot wheel chrome plating has multiple layers of material. The only way to strip it bare is a acid bath and multi media blasting.

Next question is are the bushings original? If so, Id just swap in new poly bushings as that is more than likely the cause then a bad rack. If the rack is bad..get a brand new OEM one.

 

If you got a mirror like in the video that may help. Took me ages trying to pry on levers with my fingers not being able to see shit before I moved the right one and whala my door opened!

This issue is by far the most frustrating issue I have had on my truck as well so I feel you. Reason my panel is still apart and I haven't fixed the damn thing as I haven't found the motivation to work on it again lol, even though it would be nice to have a full functioning door again.

you bushings are useless then. Id get new ones even if you have to get a new rack.

 

How hard is the bottom bushing where the long bolt to change? I read your thread the other day and it seems like you had to heat something to get it out?

Just doesn’t seem active at the moment.

Well shit, Kings or blower?

 

Not that hard. You sometimes have to burn out the bushing. If you have a nice way to heat up the metal center its not bad.

That blower on the 4 banger doesn't add that much power. If you want mo powa then do a turbo....or motor swap.

 

Go with the kings first. There's more work to putting a blower on. One reason why I'm doing this engine swap, other reason why is who doesn't want a V8 tacoma lol
