Positive Scrub Radius

Most recommend zero camber and zero toe.
The alignment spec I gave is straight-up-the-middle factory; it accounts for factory scrub and other dynamic forces.
Alignment is a static measurement.
Positive scrub pulls the tire toe-out.
Start at zero toe and apply road force, it will toe-out.
The more positive scrub, the more pronounced the effect.

 

Thanks. Sorry I’m new to all this. Basically, you’re saying if one got the pro 16” wheels with 13mm offset, it should be fine running with no camber or toe adjustments, but it still would be slightly better to adjust it if one was so inclined?

 

It's a 12mm increase in positive scrub if you keep stock tires; less if you go with taller tires.

If you have alignment that is straight-up-the-middle factory, watch for tire wear.
If you get wear on the inside, go with more toe-in.
If you get wear on the outside, go with less positive camber.
Rotate tires often using the rearward cross pattern.

 

Thanks for the info. I’m assuming you suggest not messing with camber or toe with a 12mm positive scrub unless I see wear? Also how would I know which alignment I have? I’m assuming most just go get their new wheels and tires put on. I thought you don’t get an alignment unless needed after the wheel change...

 

Go off your last alignment sheet...
If you haven't had one since purchase, I suggest getting one. Alignment is covered for 12 months/12,000 miles.

 

Gotcha. So getting alignment after installing the TRD Pro 17” wheels would be best I take it? That way they would make adjustments as you speak of...

 

New trucks are generally poorly aligned from the factory or lose alignment quickly as things settle in.
They'll get within spec. They might even get it up the middle. They will not adjust it for added scrub radius.
Point is, you'll have a reference for future adjustment. If you get a good alignment guy, you can ask him to get the numbers you provide, within reason.
