    I did a plasti dip over my original chrome grill. Hated it. Bought a color matched from camel back toyota and Homertaco insert. One mod I have never regretted.

    looks good.thought bout painting mine black but hear its hard to get chrome off and not damage plastic.ill look into the color matched ones.mine would be mgm gray.thanks

    If your fine with black you could just use plastic dip over the chrome. If you want mgm I would check camel back toyota pricing. You can get some black grills on eBay pretty reasonable $$ but I'm not sure on the quality.

    I would imagine the same methods to remove chrome on retrofit headlights(Bleach OR Oven cleaner) would work fine here.
