So tonight I was out with a girl and my truck was running fine, I picked her up, we got some Mexican food and then went back to her place for a few hours.

When I came back out and started up my truck the check engine light came on and I noticed that I had almost no engine power, not much throttle response past like 20mph. Supercharger wasn't making it's normal whine either. So I pulled over to a gas station and popped the hood. Everything looked normal, nothing wrong with the belt from what I could see. Feels like the engine has no power and I can't get up past around 50mph, just no power. Truck has 61,000 miles on it and the supercharger was installed at about 34,000 and I replaced the s/c belt about 10,000 miles ago.

I'm taking it to the shop first thing tomorrow morning, but was curious if anyone had any thoughts of what it could be. Just seemed weird that it was working 100% fine, then I park for 3 hours and now this is happening.

Thanks for the input and thoughts

Best thing to do is see what the code is that caused the CEL to illuminate to narrow it down. Almost sounds like a possible secondary air injection pump issue/failure since you're a 2012, but those usually involve the truck going into limp mode and you wouldn't be able to hit 50mph in limp mode. Would the engine rev above 2000rpm?

I had a similar problem which turned out to be warped cylinders in my engine. Toyota ended up replacing the engine as my truck was still under warranty. Hope that's not the issue though.

I checked this, looks fine still. I'm pretty good about checking the level every few months

It feels pretty limp, but not completely. Anything past 35mph on my way home it was struggling bad. The engine wont go over like 2,100-2,200 rpm. I just dropped it at big o right next to my house, they are going to check the code and get back to me.

Do not pay to have this repaired!! There is a warranty extension for 2012 tacomas. Take the truck to Toyota and let them fix it for free.
