Have you been there lately? My sister and her husband visited us last summer and she wanted to go. The former owner sold the business, and it's called something different now. All the fun weekend stuff (dog adoptions, local bluegrass bands, etc.) are no longer. They're trying to "cater to a different crowd" according to one employee. One positive is that they kept the winemaker from when it was Cooper, but we probably won't be back anytime soon.

Also, turns out I'm actually 20 minutes away from the winery... didn't seem like that far. Lake Anna winery is about 25 mins away from me as well. I actually seem to prefer it a bit more, especially since the new butter took over Cooper and tried to make it all "sophisticated and dignified".

Took my son to an empty parking lot today while there were was no one around and gave him his first driving lesson! He had fun and was very timid, but I think that was a good thing.

 

My oldest just turned 15. I dont look forward to this.

 

My son's first driving lesson was on the beach at Cape Lookout National Seashore. That first drive is one neither of you will ever forget

I tried to teach my ex manual in an empty lot once. 5 minutes later and a more than a few of my hairs going gray, she gave up and said auto is fine.

 

I tried to teach my wife to drive a manual years ago. She couldn't get it and I didn't have the patience.

I turned her over to my Mom to teach her. She had it figured out in 5 minutes.

 

I am not a good teacher. I dont have patience either.

 

My sons first std lesson was in the diesel plow truck. On my street. 2 miles to total. Two weeks later he applied for a job driving a grocery truck. Asked if he could drive a std. his response
“Of course I can”.

YES!!

I painted my/your rims last weekend (satin black), and talked to my neighbor about getting some tires (finally). He owns a mobile tire company....hard to describe but basically it's a tire shop in a truck that comes to where you are (work/home/movies), instead of trying to take to your ride to a shop and either wait or get a ride back and forth. He is ordering some Toyo AT2 for me, plus the lug nuts. He will mount and balance everything too, then I will get an alignment.

On the bad side, I broke some tabs from the center caps when removing them to paint, so now I have to try and find replacement center caps for the Gear wheels.

 

Somebody stole the damn license plates off my truck!! FRONT AND BACK!!!
