Problem here is I live on the state line. So I'll need both states fishing licenses to fish the river because you'll need access to it from both sides to fish properly. Georgia doesn't give you a break one bit on a OOS fishing license living here either. They will say there is reciprocity but I know how the squirrel cops work. Especially the Alabama ones. Certain areas of the river are under control of Alabama even though Georgia technically owns the river. Bastards!

That sucks. Here you can get a special discounted rate for the shared Waters and just add it to your regular one. Makes it a lot easier than that BS.

If you had a "current" licence would that be only for Rivers? Y'all need a separate one for lakes & still waters? Damn fishin' red tape.

No it's all waters in the state except for the county owned lakes. There's a separate fee to fish those. Private lakes you don't need a fishing license for because they aren't owned by the county or state. However the river is owned by another state so you have to have their license to fish it unless you stick to only your state side. Which isn't much for fishing on this side. I prefer to fish the Georgia side of the river around the marina. I really prefer to fish the river by boat but I sold mine a few years back and was going to buy a bigger one but just haven't managed to do that yet. I kind of need 2 boats, a welded jonboat with a mud motor on it for hunting and a center console that I could fish the main river and take to the beach with us when we go.

With the county owned lakes there is a separate license or use fee that you buy that allows you to fish all of them for the year. Thing with that is you have to buy them in August I believe it is to get the full year. Those along with fishing license in Alabama run from August 1st to Sept 30th. Georgia fishing license run a year from the date you buy it like it should be.
