By federal law, they absolutely can.

Looks to me like CBI specifically noted that they do not have acceptable discounts available. Am I missing something?

That was a PM message and not to me. Also it appears I used the code they supplied.

You didn't even know CBI owns Prinsu when you tried to start your "group buy" nor have any knowledge about CBI never doing group buys (never mind your original post was in the 3rd gen marketplace and not the automotive group buy forum). Now you seem to be trying to stir up a mob against CBI because they asked you to remove your post. You look quite foolish in this whole thing.

To the OP: You tried to use an erroneously posted discount code, and seem to be complaining that your attempt to glide through a loophole got denied. Some companies might allow their error to stand and your purchase to go through. CBI looks like they aren't for the reasons they state (their margin is so tight they can't offer discounts and certainly not 50%). Your review basically comes down to "I tried to take advantage of a mistake by CBI and they caught the mistake early in the transaction. Why won't they let me cheat them!?!"

If anything, CBI is at fault for not paying more close attention when trying to reply to members here by posting a discount code. But I don't think they are under an obligation to honor their mistake when it apparently screws them so hard.

What's your policy on canceling sales, I'm sure you have it somewhere in your fine print.

This. Unless you hacked there website and wrote the line of code that allowed you to use the discount code how are you taking advantage?

Prinsu was terrible customer service before being bought by CBI in a group buy where I got my racks, thought that would change things.

Even if somebody doesn't consider this bad customer service, there have been other postings about their service.

This is why I had my bumpers made custom locally....and for cheaper...

I've never understood people coming out in droves to burn down a small business for making a mistake.

Burning it down with one order?

If $700 dollars gonna tank cbi, they probably need to re-evaluate.

If 100 people used it and they were gonna take a 70k hit I get where that could affect them.
But I’m going off of the info currently available.

I don't think anyone's trying to burn them down.

Also, if they are, I'd say they're doing it for someone not owning up to their mistake....not for making the mistake.

Or at the very least, if 100 people did use it, coming out publicly and saying hey guys were sorry but we can’t honor that for this and that reason.
