What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Have you checked all the power and grounds going to the ECM?

 

Yeah there is a ground on the intake manifold on the driver side that is easy to miss.

 

this is a 2000 but it might help. see attached pdf

 

It came from North Dakota. According to the guy it had 60k on it. Had pictures of a double cab that rolled. The 60k is what he said but who knows how many are really on it. It was in good condition though. The total cost shipping included with a 1 year warranty was

How are they for other drivers on low beam? Most find that they blind oncoming vehicles! My OPT7's certainly did, until I did the Glare Guard mod to them. Its a bit of a hack, but it works, so....

 

In the far West suburbs of Chicago we are expecting highs in the 50s and sunny today followed by 8" of snow tonight and into tomorrow... Gotta love the Midwest weather.

Though I am definitely guilty of ballin on a budget.

Wondering this as well. I was thinking of going this route instead of retrofitting eventually because of the fact that retrofits don't do well in rigs that get beat on.

You would think a company would come up with a solution that wouldn't need a hack mod to fix it.

 

if you was making a mall crawler would you buy billies or one of the big brands. its like those people who buy drop bracket lifts and try to go through what we do. im guilty of the budget thing as well. but i did a real lift. no lift blocks or spacers. and now i wish i saved the money for this LT setup im looking at.

 

The inverse of that though is there are tons of people on here who buy the big brands and never fully use them to their full potential. That being said Brett's favorite combo of 5100's and Eibach 625's is still somehow surviving my abuse.

 

yea my toytec 5100's with eibach 600lbs are great for highways but not so good on washboard gravel or these dirt roads im on.

 

So apparently they do exist without a hack mod. Would be interested to give these guys a shot.
