Hi, new to the forum and looking for advice. I purchased a 2013 tacoma in January and wife was in accident with it in February. Driver side back was hit.

Took it to an alighnment shop and they noticed negative camber on rear. They recommended first checking rim and then if thats not issue try changing axle shaft. Ive done both and tire still feels a little wobbly at speeds above 50mph. If it is not axle shaft what would you guys recommend trying next? Gears? Housing? Any help is greatly appreciated! 20180226_080049.jpg 20180315_115359.jpg

Well noticing that leak on the left axle seal I would say your diff is bent.

Thanks for reply! Local junk yard says they will sell me a complete axle. This is probably a dumb question but im learning how to do this as I go.. Is the diff inside of rear axle?

A differential is the rear end assembly. There are many different parts to complete the rear end

Granted, all the details aren't in, but here's my thoughts. Why aren't you just letting the insurance company deal with it?

Next thought. Any alignment guy that can't tell the difference between a bent wheel, a bent axle shaft, and a bent axle housing, is a dumb ass.

If you have a straight edge put it on the housing and see if you can see a gap. Negative camber will be the axle bending upwards. Positive will point it down

    Yeah.
Usually when someone says a complete axle they mean the diff, axle housing and axles -- especially from a junk yard. Easy to pull out as an entire assembly, no reason to take it apart. The diff is the gears inside the pumpkin.

I'd go with the swap from the junk yard, just make sure it's from an SR5 or Sport, not an Off Road.

Looks like frame might be slightly bent too. My main goal is to get this truck to where I can drive it faster than 45mph without it going all over the lane and not going through a tire after only one tank a gas. Do you guys think axle change can possible solve this or will bent frame have to be addressed also?

It actually changes depending on what direction the wheel is in. Also, when I put new axle shaft in it appeared slightly uneven to flange until I fully tightened bolts

Side note: Only car work ive ever done before this was oil changes on a subaru. So if I use wrong terms or anything its due to my lack of experience

You need some new tires. That thing looks separated.

All tread was lost within 400 miles of driving. Im hoping changing complete axle (diff) will be enough to slow down tire wear.
