the start of my money pit

well guys I guess I'll start a build thread. it's what all the cool kids are doing!

purchased my 2018 the last week of February!

I see 6, maybe 7 trucks in that pic. One in every driveway!

 

my first "mod" was adding ditch light brackets and side shooter lights. well a month later and my lights are still not here (I've had some kind words with this online company).

second i ordered a chinese knockoff of the trd pro grille, and got the radiator garnish off eBay!

 

mine is definitely the sexiest, besides the chicks 1500 next door. it's a close second, cuz she's single and lifted her truck!

 

i then ordered a set of bilstein 5100s, one 887 coils, light racing ucas, and headstrong 3 leaf aal. I installed everything on Wednesday.

also did the ecgs bushing to get that out of the way. was fairly easy besides having hell getting the cv shaft out. I just wasn't getting mad enough at it.

thus setup yielded about 2" over factory in the front as of right now after it has settled over the 20 miles or so I've drove. I expect it to settle a little more.

I have about 5/8" taco lean going on so I'm gonna install a 1/4 top plate spacer this weekend and that should get me close.

 

I have changed my mind over and over about what wheel/tire setup I want, and I think for now I'm gonna throw on some 285 with stock wheels and 1" spacers until I figure out what wheels I want. I did the pinch weld mod when installing lift and used the heat gun to reshape a bunch of the fender liner. if 285s rub on cab mount ill get the grinder out and chop em.

fog light led pods
possibly audio equipment
dakars
bumper
then 888 coils because of sag, hence being a money pit.

 

You really want to make it a money pit? Put some TE37’s on that bad boy. Mag blue against that silver is mind blowing...

 

lol I'm sure it would catch an eye setup that way. but I feel like for 4k I could better utilize it and buy about everything on my to do list!

 

when I first started looking, I loved the method nv's, until I saw how popular they are. so changed my mind there to try to be somewhat different from the crowd

well got a little more done on the truck! got my ditch lights on and wired into the high beams with a switch as well to turn off/on. also got the kicker Subaru tweeters in! made a huge difference! the front speakers, rear speakers, and sound deadening will be here tomorrow! I still haven't made up my mind on wheels/tires! grrr

 

well got back from the lake and started ripping door panels off. got the sound deadening and kicker door speakers in! what a difference. first time ever using the sound deadening stuff, and I pretty much put that shit everywhere I could get to in the door panels.
