I have the .75" BORA spacers, but I haven't installed them yet. I don't have any rubbing so I am up in the air on them. I may install them and see what they look like and if they give me any rubbing issues. Might be a good project for next weekend.

I had the same issue with my wife and kids. I went with sliders from Shrockworks.com. Love them so far.

I'm having a real internal battle between these 255s and 285s. Anyone have experience running both, with which one they prefer?

Also struggling with the cost of the 255s. There doesn't seem to be a ton of choices.

My overall opinion is the 255 gives a oblong contact patch when aired down in stead of round you get with the 285s. Also the unsprung weight is less and you don't notice the height when going to a 33 inch tire as much as you do with the 285s. I only lost about 1- 2 mpg with the 255 over stock tires. The down side in the third gen is on the hwy is the dam truck won't go into 6th gear with the 33s (I solved that with regearing). I went with the BFG MTs so they are heavy about 12/14 lbs more than stock also I have all kinds of room with the 255s so no clearence issues. Hope this helps after all it's just an opinion!

Wish I could say I only went down 1-2 mpg. On my drive to work I used to get ~19 now it's down to 14.9. The drive home used to be able to get ~22-24, now I'm getting 17. The drive is mostly hilly, 5fwy and 241 if anyone is familiar.

    Anyone else experience this?

Any opinion helps! I think with 33s in general, I worry about the re-gearing, which I really don't want to do. I want to avoid buying these tires as being the start of a long chain of mods to correct for them. That's what worries me. There's always that other side of me that would be content with just going up a little to 265/75/16s and calling it a day

Ouch. Do you have a lift, or is this just from adding the tires to a stock rig?

Dumb question, are you doing the math conversion for your mpg or going off the readout in the information center?

Going based off of gallons filled vs estimated miles. You're probably right though it's skewed. I'm actually pretty bad about these things.

to find your actual miles find the % difference between your original tires and your current tires then multiply by your trip odometer reading and divide by fill up miles helps

Yeah I used that before! It's strange, on stock tires those street speedometer always had me going ~2 mph slower than my slspe. With the new tires in generally going 1mph faster than spedo. Not a good measure but kinda funny.

Iv found that multiplying your information readout by this same % is accurate to.

that's weird it should be 1.08 times faster... I think. For me it is 1.12 times faster

So I am on the fence on keeping the OR wheels and going 255/85r16 or getting the 17” SEMA 4Runner TRD Wheels with same Pizza cutter size tires. There seem to be more options in the 17” size for some reason. What I cannot seem to determine is which overall package would be lighter?
Logic says the 16” package would be lighter because of less aluminum material but with C and E load tires I am not sure if that’s true.

Wheels can vary greatly in weight. My 4runner wheels are over 31 lbs!

The factory OR wheels are pretty light, around 23 lbs. those sema wheels are very similar.

I REALLY want FN countersteer 16" which are 18 lbs and just as strong. Spend the weight on tires where you get more plies thicker rubber.
