Camper leak 2016 tacoma

100XR Leer camper is leaking at the front corner. Store place rope black putty 3 different times on the slots. Slots are about 1/4" wide and 1 1/2"long near the front of bed. Store did not place gasket between camper and truck.

 

The LeerXR like most shells is not designed to be waterproof. Some water will always get it. If your dealer told you different they lied. Get a bed mat. The water will run down the corner and through the slots in the bed under the mat keeping your stuff dry.

Your Leer cap should be 100% waterproof. It must be installed with a gasket between the bed and the cap. If water is entering around the tailgate you will need to add a tailgate seal. Ive owned 4 Leer caps including the one on my 2018 TRD OR LB. All have been 100% waterproof in the heaviest of rains.
