Relaxing today with the kiddo. We are building a 1000 piece LEGO currently of Kylo Rens transport. Then gonna head to Austin park N pizza for a bday party.

What’s going on SA?

 

Not much, heading our now for the grandsons first t-ball game. Then come home and work on things at the casa.

For PINS: @Phoosa, where/what time do you want to meet on 4/20?

For Jambo: I need to figure out who is going and tag along on Thursday 5/3.

For Overland Expo West: @pixelsailor, sounds like we should get day passes for Saturday. We can aim to get there early, stay as long as we want and then head out when its time for us to find a spot to camp. Timing is definitely the concern as I wanted to head to SLC on that Sunday. I can head there early Monday morning as well. How did you see the schedule working out?

 

I'm supposed to get off work @ 2 or 3pm on the 20th.
Could meet me at work since it's right off 35.
Or if you are planning on running the toll road we can meet up somewhere south of SA.

I could potentially meet yall for pins. I'm considering hitting Big Bend the weekend prior though. I need to decide if I can do both trips or just one.

I was on the fence for Jambo but I'm officially out. I need to be home that weekend.

For Expo I think the timing will work out better than originally planned. A day pass for Sat. sounds good. Gives you time to get to SLC and me time to head home and get a few days of office time in before I start working remotely for the rest of the year. We should be able to arrive in the area Friday night. I downloaded the MVU map of the area east of Flagstaff and there's a ton of trails with dispersed camping as well as established sites we should be able to crash at. Saturday night I imagine we'd head north a bit to camp but I don't think I'm going to do Grand Canyon so I don't want to go too far since it's in the wrong direction to get home.

 

Okay this works out great! Sounds like another trip for Grand Canyon and surrounding stuff will be in our future, and this is fine by me! What day are you thinking you want to leave Central Texas, Sunday 5/13 or Monday 5/14?

 

For sure not Sunday. That's mother's day. I'd be in trouble if I left town before the sun was up then. I'm thinking more like monday or tuesday. I need to sit down and work out the distance each day to figure out how many days we need to be camping by Friday night. A day to Las Cruces. And two or three to Flagstaff? Leaving Tues morning would give us three days between LC and Flagstaff.

 

Okay, ill plan for Monday or Tuesday as the departure date heading west and then that Sunday for departure North to SLC and you to TX.

My lower back is hurting a bit today. @FindFalke mentioned there is a ride tonight starting from ATX Bikes at 6pm but I dont think I will make it.

Im down to kick it... ill be doing laundry and packing up for the trip

 

Damn, they finishing after dark then I would think.
