I might. Let me message Steve to see if the type I have will fit with the blower. He makes 2 styles for 1st gens and one will clear the blower.

If i have the wrong ones, I'll sell them to you.

You'd think the shock would show signs of failure if he was bottoming out the shock that bad..

Shocks and coilovers aren't particularly dainty though (most on TW seem to think they're made of glass), everyone I've talked to has said you'll break truck parts before you break the coilovers themselves.

OH that explains a lot. Stop sending it! Check your motor mounts too. Make sure they are not bowing. For some reason that spot likes to bend inward on me too. But that's when my shocks where really stiff.

    Can do!!!!

Core support: Mine cracked at the same spot years ago plus many others on both sides. Thin sheet metal doesn't like to be used and abused. Weld that MF'er and send it!!!!

Coil bucket: text me dimensions and I'll get some .25 or .375 steel cut for you. I need ID, OD, 3 Bolt circle. A nice overlay plate will keep the bucket together for a few more years.

    But sending it is fun!

I'll check the motor mounts too.

Awesome! I'll get those measurements and text you tomorrow.

I bet your motor mounts are as fucked as mine were many years ago. Build or buy some semi solid ones and Send it!

I used some leaf spring bushings and some 4130 1.75 tubing and plate I had laying around to make my solid engine mounts.

That's something to consider. If your motor mount are half way decent you can always box them in. A lot of LT guys just box them in. But if they are beat to shit do what Tim suggest and build new ones that are thicker. Plus the inner part of the frame of the motor mounts might be bent in if your motor mounts are bent so look for that too.

Your not going hard enough in your #bestgen if your frame hasn't caved in under the driver side frame perch.

Circa December 2011 for me. A ton of 3/16 4130 patched it back up! I also had another on-lay plate going up the coil bucket.

I agree, but these aren't billsteins either... high quality shocks can take some serious abuse and cause other problems without damage to themselves first

Couldn't really get that great a look at the drivers side mount, but it looks fine.

    Here's the passenger side. :notsure:

We are doing a group buy with bozen on his motor mounts if you want in. Not cheap but beef.

I'd replace them no matter what with the mileage you have and the way you use the truck there is no way the rubber is going to be in good shape anymore.

The trail gear bomb proof mounts are okay too but raise the motor up about an inch makes for a bitch to install. 4xi novation makes a nice tranny mount to go with it.

Cool, not to bad. That metal is thin. Consider beefing up the perches. Not a dier need but easier to get it now then when they do bend.

Could I tempt you to make another set perhaps. I'd like to avoid this issue and my Icons have a top hat design I could imagine doing damage like this over time.

First trip of the season was successful. It'll be the last trip with the topper. Few quirks to work out, but overall happy with how everything is working.
