"Regarding some trucks experiencing any fuel cut @ the limiter (during shift). It is possible to hit the fuel cut, although I cannot get my truck to do it some people have said theirs does and has done this even before 1.03.
I suspect this has to be a result of some modification change, or lack of modification that other trucks have? The reason is shifts are controlled by gear + calculated torque + tire/ wheel speed.
conclusion would lead me to think that trucks that are able to actually hit the fuel cut have different tires or wheel size? It's the only part of the equation that is changeable."

My truck is stock. I did have the fuel cut at red line on the tune prior to 1.03 (twice). I have not had it on 1.03.

Had to jump my wife's car battery and found that while keeping the engine at 3000rpm with a completely steady foot the engine speed surged. Weird feeling. Perhaps this relates to the surging we're seeing at lower rpm's too? I have a good video of this but...

***apparently I can't upload an iPhone .mov video file or .m4a audio file. Does any know how one can upload an iPhone video without posting to youtube or Vimeo?***

The version I have (downloaded some time this month - don't remember the exact date) worked fine on two different laptops, one running 32 bit Win7, one running 64 bit Win10. Got to learn this the hard way, because the battery in my Win7 machine was way more shot than I thought, and it crapped out halfway through my ECU flash in spite of having a "full" charge. Shame on me for not parking near an AC outlet. Had to borrow a Win10 laptop to redo things. Fortunately, as Matt has reminded people many times, a failed flash will not brick your ECU.

Mat, not sure if it's a fuel cut for me, and not sure who else on here has experienced this, but I've been dealing with a fuel cut, engine stall, or whatever it is since my stock tune at about 1500rpm from dead stop to WOT. Any chance you can shed some light on this? The tune has not eliminated this issue.

Some of you guys need to report issues and provide feedback instead of waiting for someone else to say something.
This is the type of business where the more feedback the better for all.

I would love to provide feedback and do some stress testing (I am known to break things rather easily) but I've yet to even receive my license key

Do you think the smoothing of this will help address the random misfires many experience? I've tried w/ both 87 and 91/93 tune and predictably 2-3 misfires on startup then intermittent when quickly shifting from low load to high load situations. Nothing alarming in terms of performance or other data I can see but it does appear the intermittent and random misfires are more prevalent. For me I'd see 2-3 misfires on premium with stock calibration pretty much every trip, rarely ever saw a misfire logged on 87 running stock. On the tune I never see any misfires when cruising on the highway but will get the oddball here and there when driving around town and a lot of low to high load scenarios to the point that if starting truck cold it's not uncommon to see 10-13 misfires on a trip. Truck drives incredible overall and if I didn’t have OBD data I likely would rarely be aware of the misfires but clearly would be concerned over the long haul.

The trucks misfire detection relies on stock numbers relating to quick variations in engine speed so I wonder if the faster transitions are making the ECU think it’s misfiring when it’s not or if it just needs finer tuning of fueling vs timing ?

I picked up a dedicated tuning laptop today as I haven’t been able to effectively run tech stream through VirtualBox so I will get some logs of this in the next few days to help where I can.

    So close!

This. So many people these days don't communicate and then just whine to whomever will listen. Communication is a big part of why those of us on the MT thread were able to get the ball rolling on map tweaks to resolve issues that had come up

Some of the things people are seeing as issues are things that have been around or exist on stock vehicles. I understand that you some things need updating, and that is being worked on.

    But for example:
    - misfiring
    - unstable idle when you turn the wheel
    - truck hitting fuel cut at random
    - truck falling on its face flooring it from a stop
    - stutter in low rpm

Some trucks have some, none, or all of these. These have been around since before tuning.

I am still investigating what and why these occur. Through testing with the MT guys I believe I can say with confidence that the falling on its face / lag in power when you floor it off idle is not related to the injector switch over, even though Toyota said this is what causes it.
Reason being is that the injector angle timing and switch was changed in 1.03 yet it still happens to trucks at times.

I’m willing to bet it’s a fuel pump issue. I had a 65 mustang that did this after I upgraded to a larger 4-barrel carburetor. Pump could not keep up.

I don't think so, honestly I think it's just the fact the stock tune is such a mess and so overly complex.

I'm not really sure how to explain it in a simplistic way. The stock tunes core components make the truck and engine / transmission just run like absolute poop. Misfires, harsh shifts, unintelligible torque converter locking. And then Toyota just added layers and layers of options to mute as much as possible.

They have so many layers for the transmission it's ridiculous and the whole reason ( according to what someone in the know told me ) is to mute as much of the hardware inconsistencies as possible.

So imagine in "form 1" the truck runs and shifts like garbage. Rather than fix the bugs in the form, throw 10 different forms with randomized changes on top of form 1 and give the truck the ability to "find" what works.

But all the original form 1 junk is still there, and at times, used.
