Combo Pintle Ball hitch. Only used once. Talked the guy down to $50. Should I do it?

Are you hauling 10k trailers? If yes, it's a deal.

If you are pulled over hauling a 10k trailer, be prepared to do some explaining.

If you are getting it to haul a military single axle trailer, then go for it. Just make sure the pintle on the trailer is adjustable. That hitch you showed is not, most are adjustable. Must be why the price is good.

He used it once to haul and doesn’t need it anymore. Said it is taking up space and he just wants it gone.

Obviously I am not hauling that much with my Taco...

I figured it might be nice to grab it in case I need it later though.

How does the M101 tow behind the Taco?

    Hint:

Obviously the hitch allowes you to haul conventional ball type trailers, which will be 95 percent of your trailering duties.

Because of that fact, the latch needs to be pinned in the open position.

If you "machine" the bottom of the latch 1/4" with an angle grinder, it allows the latch to close on top of most ball couplers. This gives you 2 safety locks as well as keeps the latch mechanism from freezing up from non use.

This does not effect the strength of the pintle latch at all.

Those are heavy duty. You won't be using overdrive and you will know it's there.

They look neat, but I don't think they are useful as most think.

I served in the Corps, they are more useful than you think. Especially when the motto is, “If you can’t truck it, **** it.”

I don't doubt that, but I would not want to haul one 500 miles.

You can do the same with a Tractor Supply trailer with less stress on your tacoma, and you can get tires or axle parts anywhere.

I mean, you took the time to wheel and deal so you should probably buy it. Nothing more annoying then when someone texts you off and on for a period of time and then say “nah I’ll pass” lol

Oh, and thank you for your service. Several of my best friends are Corps, even if I think they are whacked half the time:)

Looks like a 2.5 inch shank, that wouldn’t fit your truck anyways.

I agree, it's a great deal. I just wanted the op to be aware of how those hitches are used.

Being in the trailer biz, I like to show off my great, big, giant brain.

I actually asked him if the price was firm. He said he would drop it by $5 and I told him I had to talk to the wife (the wife being you guys on TW) behave I could find them brand new for about the same price. That is when he said he understood and dropped the price. Wished me luck with the wife.

I could use it in the fire district then. Thanks for the heads up though.
