Got a signed bill of sale right? That's how you start the process. Bill of sale says for parts?

Yes I have the Bill of Sale but it's not from the registered owner of the truck. You're saying I should purposely give the truck a salvage title? I'm confused lol

And that's where it is going. Door is toast because the crash bar is shoved all the way in and it'll be cheaper to have a new door put on than it would be for them to fix that one.

It's my new favorite line to describe things that are ghetto rigged.

Man I wish my AC worked... It needs a new condenser and likely a new whole new pump.

Well, if it says on bill of sale for parts, it's gonna be salvaged. And you get to do a brake and lamp and vin verification . So it gonna be a ordeal . Or call the Lien place. Or part it out.

The guy was selling it "for parts" it didn't say that on the bill of sale - he said that because the truck didn't have a title and that was really the only use for the truck in his eyes.

I wrote up the bill of sale myself, just has the info of the truck and both our details.

I know they're going to tell me I'm SOL - or is going to tell me what I already know with the duplicate certificate and stuff. Figured out a Lien or Surety Bond was the way to go.

Yea, it's gonna be a process. You sure you don't want to cut your losses and sell it as a part out? Get your money back and then some. And you'd have your trailer..just a thought..

Who the hell is going to buy a 5VZ with 450,000 miles? Lol.

I have my heart set on restoring it. One way or another I'm getting that title.

You'll learn a lot about something new with this process - valuable info for someone that likes to wheel and deal and fix up old vehicles I'd say.

Also are there two different part numbers for clock springs w/ and w/o connections for cc?

But don't go put a ton of cash into something you don't own. It's like buy a woman a set of bolt ons, sure you get to play with them for awhile.but you'll never get your money back..i mean I'm all for it, rebuild it the way you want.just don't lose your ass til you own it.

Oh, you can scrap the motor for a few hundred dollars, just saying. You could build your trailer, part out what you can, and scrap the left overs. Or strip it and dump it in richmond like everyone else ..lol

It's sitting in my driveway right now, only money I've spent is getting it in driveable condition which meant new carpet, seats, and getting rid of all the crap it had in it. I'm in parts-wise about $200 and that's all I plan on spending until I can get the title on it.

Worse comes to worse I'll just part out the truck, no big deal.

There was a change. The 03&04 trucks had a different connector. Make sure you get the correct year connector.

I have been running a used one for 8 years, I just could not believe I could not get a replacement TPS, it is not made into the throttle body it is bolted to it. How can they make a part and not make a replacement for it? :annoyed:

If I were you I would start collecting them from junkyards. I am starting to get a good collection. I paid $40 for one and as little as $10 for one.

    Here is mine,

    2.jpg

When you look for them if it has 4 wires on the TPS like the one below it is the one you are looking for.

They list one with 3 pins not the 4 pin that is needed for the 03-04 3.4 Tacoma

Well it was "what have you done to your 1st gen last Saturday March 17th"...I was having issues in bumper to bumper traffic with my truck going into 1st gear. I did a little research and found this video on YouTube and sure enough that was the problem. One side bar though I will do over with an OEM bushing when I do the clutch but the Dorman shifter bushing kit was a huge help

You could try the Marlin Crawler shifter bushing as well. It's a different material that won't wear down like the rubber ones.
