I’m aware there’s hundreds of suspension threads but I’m starting a new thread since there’s very little on owners that want to keep stock ride height.

I’m planning to get King AR fronts and rears and keep the fronts at 0”. My reason is the stock suspension is bouncy as hell and too much body roll around corners and this is the sport model! Also the pavement in gets destroyed in the winter with potholes and some are like washboards off-road.

Whichever the case, my question is should I replace the rear leaf springs with this setup? I’ll haul up to 500 lbs occasionally that’s it, no cap or tents or anything else on the back.

    Thanks for any info

From what I’ve learned, the stock leaf springs on the Tacoma aren’t the greatest. They will wear pretty fast. Given that you’re going to spend thousands of dollars on top notch suspension, I’d say change them.
I know you did not ask for it, but my .02 on spending so much on Kings when you’ll just be on the highway I’d say look at your other options such as bilstein. To my knowledge, going to kings won’t improve your body roll. It’s a truck, it will naturally have awful corner handling. Again, my .02 but I see no need for kings that will not touch something that isn’t asphalt.

Some of the Bilsteins are more expensive than the Kings. I just don’t want to replace the stock springs with a similar spring if I get a cheap Bilstein setup.

I’m not driving the truck a lot since it’s not a DD, but I’d like to go on the occasional off road trip.

Also, I’d like to keep stock ride height and most of the aftermarket leaf packs are 2” minimum lift plus I’m not carrying around a lot of weight to offeset it lower.
