My 4.88 installation was about $1500 that included an ARB rear locker and the front ECGS bushing. Expect at least a day and a half or more from most but one day is sure possible.

I wouldn't say struggling, but I've started to feel the power loss now that I've got the cap/RTT on. Also could be due to reduced aerodynamics though. I think the fact that my tires aren't very heavy, since they're skinnies, is helpful but I feel like I'm at the tipping point of needing to re-gear.

Driving at 75-80 is awesome but you will take a significant hit on MPG's! But you are not going to be hunting for any gears, takes most hills and inclines in stride at those speeds. FEELS SO GOOD!

That sounds super low - I was expecting to drop at least $1200. Hopefully they stick with that quote or close to it for you!

Thanks Jerry. If so, I’m ordering tomorrow. A local shop told me their distributor is back ordered but I’m a pretty impatient feller lol

think they and RSG are around $2800-$2900. Be aware neither will install owner provided items.

So, my truck has been in the shop for 12 days - turns out ECGS sent me the wrong front ring size!

Heads up if you have 2017 TRD OR and you order from ECGS - SPECIFY THAT YOU NEED THE THIN RING FOR THE FRONT. I don't know the thin ring part number.

***The thick ring part number is T8S-488RT-NG <==== just to specify again, that part number is the one you DO NOT want if you have a 2017 TRD OR***

And I sent both gears to be REM resurfaced!

However, true to ECGS quality, their customer service is bad ass (thanks Kevin). They're overnighting (for free) a different carrier (for free) for the front case which allows for fitment of the thick gear that I already had resurfaced.

4.88's are the way to go with oversized tires. Only a 200 rpm gain difference over stock at freeway speeds. Add an OV TUNE and your truck will actually pick up speed in 5th gear and cruze with no downshifting needed while in 6th. I'm on 35's with a manual transmission.

Picked up my Taco today after having the new 4.88's installed. WOW. This is a whole new truck. I wasn't expecting gobs of power, but I can tell right from pulling out of the parking lot the truck it has more pep on the low end... even with 35's. Cruising at 70MPH I was at 1800RPM. Only have about 50miles on it so far, so can't comment yet on MPG. Where they shine the most so far is around town acceleration from a dig(most of my driving). I drive with ECT on and have the OV ECU tune. This truck GETS ON IT. Gears(with R.E.M) cost me 1300, and install ended up being 1200(and they installed the ECGS bushing for free). Happy I made the investment.
