Hi all! Picking up the 2018 Tacoma Off-road on Wednesday. In Ottawa central/east and am looking for the odd trail run (want to take it easy as this is also my commuter). Has anybody done a meetup?

    Welcome to the group, watersoilair.

And 'hey' to everyone else in the Ottawa area.

I'd also be interested in an Ottawa meet, or a trail run if it's easy enough that it won't cause toooo much damage to the soft underbelly of my pampered DCLB Sport.

hahaha pretty sure we are all on the same page in regards to not wanting to damage anything. I think most the trails in our area are all fairly safe to be honest but I have yet to check them out for myself. we will definitely need to have a meet once this snow is all gone and the sun is shining.

Hey Chris. Welcome to our tiny club too. You may wanna remove your front valance if we do go tree huggin'.

    Summers coming boys!

Not sure mine ever had a valance (mine's a 2nd gen) but if it did, it would be gone.
And I already scraped off the trailer wiring harness from under the rear bumper while traversing a small ditch, so I guess I don't have to worry about that either... :)
The mud flaps are probably next to go. I trimmed 3" off the fronts, but they still drag on some of the trails. Surprised they are all still attached, honestly.
I don't worry about scraping stuff off (well, within reason - for now I'd like to keep my bumpers and mirrors I guess). I worry about unprotected pans full of lubricants and fuel that hang under the truck. Last year I bashed the brush guard in front of the oil pan on a rock on a trail an hour north of Ompah ("Middle of Nowhere")...the thought of walking home was pretty sobering (and I don't like being sober)!

    Time for skids?

I got a full set of Mobtown steel skids that will be going on this summer. I wait for their sale near the end of the year, 25% off. then a buddy of mine picks them up for me and then me and @Kemosabe go meet in Binghampton NY. have to pay taxes on the way back and have ur receipt ready but it is a lot cheaper then shipping. I will be getting sliders from them this year, if ur patient I don't mind picking them up for you and bringing them back. if u prefer CBI or Pelfrey I know a Canadian dealer that could hook you up, they have a TW discount too. I'm not saying his prices will save you a ton of money but it is nice to support some Canadian stores, especially a fellow TW member.

@WormSquirts recently got hooked up with CBI and Pelfrey. @Norilsk just ordered skid off of him not too long ago. he is also just starting up a Fab Shop too which I am excited about! not too sure what his plans are in regards to what he will fab up but if he ever starts a darn thread about his company we would know!! :boink: I'm sure once things settle and business picks up he will become a vendor with an official page

I should just get you to be my TW manager! haha! I will start a thread for the business! I just didn't think that anybody really cared that much! I do have a really unpopular thread that I started a while ago. I just updated it (you motivated me!!) so hopefully that helps!

We will be starting off with sliders and bedracks etc. We have a few people lined up for custom tube bumpers right now as well. Just waiting for our new bender to show up! supposed to be a couple weeks! We can also install any other mods, as well as distribute Pelfreybilt like you mentioned! :canada:

that's great news! I'm heading over to check out the thread hahaha at least I will have somewhere to send people! hahahah I would love a custom bed rack but shipping that beast over my way would probably cost a fortune! my issue is that I have a tonneau cover and I love having it, its the Fibermax by BakFlip. I would need to bolt the bed rack to the top plate of the bed sides which doesn't bother me, the bars would also need to be strategically placed and just high enough so I could still open the tonneau. but that plan is also way down the road! when the time comes I will desing the whole thing myself with come specs and go from there. I'm hoping to buy some sliders at the end of the year from mobtown, cuz I cant say no to 25% off hahahaha make sure you keep that thread updated with some slider designs and shit that u make so I can keep track and send people your way when peoples wants match what ur producing!
