What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Awesome, I just ordered the exact same setup for my 08

 

And so far he’s super smart! The only thing I have to pay super attention to is catching him right when he goes to chew a shoe and switch it with a chew toy.

I decided to get in on the latest batch of @Andres devil horns, to swap out my polished clear for red, just to change things up for a while. While my wife was sleeping, I put the polished clear horns on her Highlander. It should be interesting to see how long it takes her to notice

 

Did you need adapters?

 

Anyone ever go from 5100s on stock coils @ 2.5 to 887s and 5100s set @0?
Trying to determine my odds of needing UCAs since they are fairly expensive and I've never installed one before.

Really appreciate if you would PM me if you have encountered this.

 

I got 3" out of my 5100s on 0 + 887s ... so UCAs will probably be needed.

 

Adapters are needed for all 3 speaker locations

Almost a year now but I also got the SPC Light Racing uppers when I did this setup.

 

3??? I only have speakers in doors plus the tweeders... I know there could be speakers in the rear doors but being base model they're not there. Where's the 3rd location?

 

I have an access cab so I have tweeters in the upper door, 6x9 in the lower door, and 6.5's in the rear doors

What size emblme did you use for the Highlander?

 

So your counting the tweeders too? Being I have base I don't have rear door speakers

 

It is the 12-15 that I took off of my 2013 Tacoma. It was a bit of a pain to put on, but it looks good to me. I had to remove the cowl over the front of the engine compartment. Then I unscrewed the emblem mounting plate from the back, and there’s not much room to get to the screws. With the emblem mounting plate out, I could attach the devil horns using the top and bottom bolts. Then all back in.

 

Yes but only because they need an additional adapter. I looked at the taco tunes adapters, but their a bit overpriced IMO so i went with the metra ones form Amazon.

I did a small >$10 mod
Got tired of slow charging from my USB port, and I had a broken cover for one of the cigarette lighters so I got this lil guy— 2.4 amps per slot

 

I thought about doing a writeup but it is pretty much the same as doing a BLHM or Retrofit you just gotta use the color matched paint. I actually have to order more paint and re sand and primer the Bezel mid spray the can decided to clog and splatter everywhere on the Bezel now it looks like poo...well not really but I am super OCD and want something to look perfect. no biggie tho I have plenty of time on my hands, BTW when painting I would recommend letting your cans sit in a bucket of warm water before use call me crazy bit it seems to make the paint spray better....I didn't do that this time which is why I think I clogged haha
