Contest: longest ever wait for a special order Tacoma

Figured I’m a shoe-in to win this one (and maybe it will ease some of the stress of waiting so $/)@“! long).

Ordered a 2018 TRD Sport (Barcelona red) with premium and tech. packages the day before thanksgiving 2017. Still waiting for my truck to get delivered. 17.5 weeks and counting (dealer claimed “worse case scenario 8-12 weeks”). Beat that people

I put a $500 deposit down on my 2017 TRD Pro Saturday before Memorial day May 2016.....drove it off the lot Dec 1st a little over 6mo later.

I lived in PA at the time. Dealer that had it allocated was Fred Haas in Houston TX. Used some frequent flier miles to fly a couple buddies down there and we road tripped back over a long weekend. Well worth it to get that MT

 

Holy smokes! 6 months. Wow. You got the patience of Job! Ok—you got the ‘trophy’ so far. Can anyone top that???

 

Put my deposit on my truck December 15 2017 and received my truck January 8th 2018.

If I had to wait like OP I would consider checking out another dealer...

 

I nearly walked. But I couldn’t beat the price and I wanted a local dealer as I plan on driving this rig for a very long time.

Dealer tells me I ordered a rig that doesn’t get produced very often (access cab, etc. )

 

Wow!! I feel like won the lottery! 8 weeks only for me.

I ordered a 2017 TRD Pro April 8th 2017, it ended up being a 2018 that I got Jan 16 2018... So quite a while

 

I ordered mine a day or so after Thanksgiving 2016 and got my Truck March 30, 2017, was worth the wait.

 

Finally got my truck! 4.5 month wait. TRD Sport Access Cab, AT, Premium and Technology packages. Apparently I ordered a pretty rare Tacoma

 

took me 5 1/2 months to score the first allocated MT Pro in Texas.. lucky i had a fallback car to lean on after totalling my main ride.

6 months exactly actual waiting, 8 months since first contact with dealer who ordered it to price it out for me.

 

I was quoted at 2 months wait time for my truck if I ordered from the cooperation / had one built.

 

October to April.

 

Wow—looks like I was not the only one with a long wait! Hats off to you folks who had to wait so long. Now that I finally got my truck, I’m glad I waited—it’s a great rig!

 

I'm currently at 8 weeks on a '19 Pro 6MT

 

Dealership ordered the specs I wanted on a 2016 DCLB (long bed being hard to find at that time) on Nov 2-3, I forget which. I didn't put a deposit down, they just recognized that if they ordered it and I didn't take it they could sell it due to the demand for scare long beds. It came in April 17th, 5 1/2 months later. Sure enough, the wanted to only give me $500 off MSRP. I only wanted to pay $500 above cost. I walked away, didn't look back.

 

My wait really tested my patience, walked into the dealership July 2018 asking about a pro, they told me I could have one built and it would take 4-8 weeks. Drove my 2019 super white pro off the lot mid December 2019. Honestly really wish I had my 2013 TRD off road that I traded in back...
