These are not for me.
But, I did buy another set of these same headlights for myself to do something really crazy. (It's going to take a lot more time and fab than these) One day...if I ever get some time for my own projects

I can imagine that you’re more into the making money business than personal projects business lol.

That one would be a tough one for me if I had your talent. Make money or make a badass 1 of a kind truck.... hmmmmm decisions decisions lol

Money is nice, But I'm more into making cool stuff 1-off stuff that is unique. Bad business model I know... but I'll do what I love first and the $ can come later.

I think the money comes as a nice bonus. He likes testing himself in coming up with new and better products. Plus he does have a one of a kind truck...

In all seriousness though that looks awesome, and you are slowly whittling down my resolve on cracking open my own headlights. Especially now since I have a switch-pro, I think I could use one of them to control DRL halos...

Next thing to address was the Angry Halos. This was the most difficult part. WHY? Because nobody makes square halos
So I did what any sane person would do.. Design and fabricate my own.

These has a lot of details wrapped in them
1)I had to match the conture of the Original bezel so it would all flow toether like OEM. (even the little ribs on the inside)
2)Layout in the back so my LED strips will all fit and disperse light evenly
3)1/8" channel on the outside for my plexiglass

Next, mask off and start cutting

DONE(wish it was that easy)

3D printed for test fitment

I designed a lip on the back to prevent it form falling out forward(will also give me a spot to plastic weld it in)

LED layout

Now for the inside channel... I didn't want it open becasue you would see all the indiviudual LED's. So I CNC'd out a quick jig. Then heated/bent up plexiglass and formed it.

Plexi installed(it was also sanded with 400grit to give the light a nice glow)

But wait, there's more
There is a big flat spot on the inside, so I decided to draw up a matching "3 bar" reflector(like the side ones)

Cut out.

LED channels

It's a combination of 3d printed housings, with CNC'd acrylic inside.

Backside. All wiring done. I will go over all the board with adhesive just to make sure it's in there for good.

Then, all the housings were sanded and painted with Matte krylon. It's my favorite paint as it's not too dull(like flat) and not too shiny(like gloss)

ALL DONE!

Off:

Angry halos AKA Dragon eyes. I'm REALLY happy how these turned out. The light hits the plexi internally, then goes straight through into the front which is lightly sanded. I would put these up against any commercially made halo

Still figuring out how everything will be wired. Here's the DRL amber on with dragon eyes

Last thing to do (other than reseal) is design an extended rear cap to cover the bulb/igniter because these projectors stick a little far out the back than stock.

Finally got my LED switchback strips in. laying out the pattern then I will design brackets to hold them in place inside the DRL tube. These things are legit! Each LED is dual color (white and Amber) and they will be wired up to diode dynamics SL1 switchback modules. Did I mention they are super bright? 1.5ft per side or 150LEDS.

And a little piece of flare..
Don't worry just a prototype. I also made smooth ones that I'm thinking about offering for sale. Color matched and will snap right in over the dumb fake fins.

Yes, it's a non functional garnish. You Can do whatever there, but I think it looks best when color matched. It makes the headlight lines more defined.

The D2S 4.0 lens will fill the stock shroud. It's a little different shape(more rounded than the OEM square) but doesn't look bad in there. Mounting is another story, way different mourning config than the Projectors that came out.

Working on it. I Think I'm gonna hook up with rentop and have him make the vinyl overlays. Painting is just too much work.
