I know Thule makes cross bars and mounts that work with tonneau covers and such and are removable. I thought about doing something like this since I have a Thule Canyon just sitting in the garage that I use to have on the top of my 4Runner. I think the "Tire Gates" are cool as hell. A swing out is nice if you have money for the entire bumper. I like both of those. My last choice would be in the bed. Oh, what about over the roof in a basket? Not good for garages however.

I just went an measured mine. It's a 2018. Rears were 22 1/8" on both sides. Fronts were 20 1/8" on the Driver's side and 20 5/8" on the Passenger's side.

Thanks for the info, I may do this after 30k miles, don’t want to mess with anything in case something takes a shit and they say this voids my warranty.

I’ve read a lot of supercharger, turbos, diesels and high rev engines benefit from a catch can. The 3.5L V6 is definitely higher rev engine.

It's the only TRD part other than the 3hp door latch covers.

Got off the fence and placed an order for some more Hikari Philips bulbs for the high beams. Caught a sale thanks to @ToyoDrew.

Bought some other goodies too for the 3rd Gen.

Crap! Toyota should have done that with the original badge. I might have left it on. Nice!

I was bored and was bothered by the rust spots on the front spindles, so I used my HF impact wrench to pull the front wheels, hit them with a wire wheel, and toss on some paint. Sorry, no pics.

    Still bored, I did this:
    IMG_20180325_141510.jpg
I installed the clamp just after I bought the Taco but have been wanting to flip it to decrease the chances.

Along the way, some of this:

I'm sure a strap would work fine.
I just can't believe how heavy the sob is.
That's why roof or under the truck bed are not options.

Yea, I hear ya. I rotate my own tires and I am no wimp by any means but at 84 lbs each (for mine, definitely more for yours) they get heavy quick. I now use a lever (big ol' long handled scraper, like your use to remove floor tile) and a section of RR tie as a fulcrum and with one hand on the tire and other on the handle of the scraper I can easily position the tire over the lugs. Lifting and spinning with brute force trying not to damage the lug holes wasn't cutting it. I would want it in a place as easy as possible to get it out of, like the Tire Gate or a swing out on a bumper.

When I had my 4Runner, I thought about making a slide, sorta like to you see for truck beds, that you could pull out and lower so that the tire was hanging there. Then you would just need to pull it off of that. Of course aluminum would be the way to go. If you're crafty, would be a nice to fab something up, and possibly sell. I got dibs on the patent rights though and royalties. LOL

    Believe me.
I'm thinking of a way to do it myself.
I may just get a truck cap and stand in up in the bed. Then secure it to the side.
    Not sure yet.

Or build to lay down in the bed and roll out like a dresser drawer.
Just would need to build a box around it.
