Finished the front side of the switch holes today. The abs plug is what I used to back that extremely thin (1mm) edge cut on each successive hole.BCFEC103-8851-4D9D-9C64-20461248B0A7_zps_379e8b2442595c22e051432f3db988e77e9ff5c6.jpg

This was a good weekend. One month ago I purchased my first Taco, a '15 access cab 4x4. After reading through the forums, I was itching to start making mods. Today I installed fog lights, a Gentex 177 compass/temp mirror and a Gator tri-fold bed cover. Next up: heated mirrors. Thanks to the many great contributors on TW who make this easy.

Finished trimming my bumper cap to clear the DTF front bumper also installed new fog lights and got the front end all buttoned back up. Anthony really does a knock out job on these bumpers!

I tackled my serpentine belt this morning. It took about an hour which is a lot longer than this should normally take, but with all the pulleys they have it took me some searching to find the tension pulley since it was blocked from view by the upper radiator hose.

To make the whole job easier I undid the top radiator hose, captured most of the anti-freeze that drained out, tucked it out of the way by the battery. Drew a diagram of the belt looped through the pulleys and then removed my old belt. Of course the access to the belt would be easier from the bottom. But my after market bumper/skid plates were also in the way and would have made the job take twice as long to do if I removed them.

Getting the new belt to form around the pulleys took some patience and convincing. It was a cold morning and I think setting the belt in the Sun to warm up would help it to stay where you put it.

The finished product! Never used the rustoleum peel coat before, always stuck with plasti dip but I can say I'm impressed! Haven't used a rustoleum product yet that hasn't met expectations!20180325_195209.jpg

Installed some fog lights on my daughter's Yaris.

What's that have to do with a Tacoma, you ask?

A few months ago I bought a pair of fog lights from a member here on TW to use for a Lamin-X project that I never got around to.

Like most Toyotas from the last 10-12 years, the gen 2 Taco and the Yaris use the same fog light. I already had some aftermarket fog light bezels from a previous Yaris. All I had to do was build a simple relay wire harness.

Her Yaris now has Taco DNA in it. :D
