Probably should, most likely won’t for now.

Never try to do ball joints with the steering knuckles off the truck though... hooooolllyyy shit. If you followed my 4WD posts on this thread back in December it took me three days to press them out. I was about to buy a hydraulic press.

Hydro press is next on my shopping list for my garage though haha. Thing makes quick work of lots of jobs I've been happily ghetto rigging. But yesterday it shortened some tough jobs we took on on @Digiratus's truck.

Thank you guys! I’ll take it off and give it a try when I get back home. I’m also running these so I should be good. D28531AB-9E7F-4815-9E92-3D76DC05C6DA.jpg

Never think you'd need a hydraulic press until you're laying on the garage floor pushing a steering knuckle against the garage door with your legs and pulling on a wrench with all your might at 3 in the morning the day before Christmas.

Never in my life I wished Santa brought me a full size hydraulic press and fit it under the Christmas Tree.

I drove without a swaybar for two weeks after my 4WD swap because I was too lazy to put it back on. Honestly, driving without it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. The amount of body roll that truck had was insane, I felt like the truck was going to capsize taking a wide turn.

Could be because I'm on the stock suspension. That's probably why.

It must be a coil rate difference to why it is so night and day with people and their sway bar. My 4runner had 883s with no extra weight and it did great without a sway bar. My Tacoma has FJ coils and I think they are the same rate as the 883s just a little bit shorter. Both handled better without the sway bar installed.

I may or may not be driving without one on my stock front suspension with a spacer and it’s not bad, I’m sure the Alcans help.

I was really nervous about it but it’s totally fine around town.

I agree it’s probably the stock suspension, even with mine I still had a good amount if body roll. With 881s and no sway bar my truck is nice and planted

They limit my droop 3 3/4” so I need to find a happy medium, I dont want to limit my droop, not stoked on limiting up travel. But I dont have the extended travel shocks. I made a mistake for sure not getting those.

Yeah, that press he had was sweet.

So little effort to press in that bushing. Even a 200 lb weakling like me could use it.

Happy medium is correct, i tend to favor uptravel over down travel but limiting almost 4in of down travel isn't good either. But I'd be very surprised if your leafs can go as frowned as you had the single one when all of them are present. With my leaf setup I couldn't achieve any negative arch with all the weight of the rear on one tire :/

So you really only need to cover as much uptravel as actually exists. Might be worth relocating your shock mounts to get all your travel...

Mine are really flat, even with the Aal. They were frowning pretty bad before. Youre running the dakars w the aal right? Is that from your recent trip? I was trying not to do a shock relocation, but I am seriously thinking about it with a flip kit and bumps too. The tax man fucked me this year, so I am a ways out on affording all that. I will need shocks though. So that has to be purchased.

Could they be flat from my shocks not helping at all lol

Yeah not the cheapest project all things considered, especially after shocks (pumped to throw my new Kings in next week). Those are just Dakars, no AAL, but I have 95-97 Dakars which are a bit different and consist of 3 leafs, 3 overloads, I want just the tiniest bit of negative arch when my uptravel is fully bumping so I'll be removing an overload and throwing in another leaf (have some left over from my rolled truck) and we'll see how everything handles. Considering welding in Johnny Joints for the rear shackle mount as well or ordering an Alcan pack with orbit eyes. Have to see if I like the Dakars after a touch more weight and an extra leaf. On the last trip they rode very nicely so I'm hesitant to just replace them (especially with only one trip under their belt haha). I have a bit more down travel to give when shock bushings aren't binding too. I'm not too sure how my rear bumper will affect things but Solidworks tells me all said and done I should be expecting ~140lbs.

Saw this at the local Pick-n-Pull for sale for $1,800. Has 350,000 miles. You won't see another pickup truck that costs that much with that kind of mileage.

You know I was kind of suspicious they parked it over a puddle far from the other cars. I almost thought the frame was rusted out and they parked it over a puddle so you wouldn't look under it.

It didn't stop me. The frame was fine I was just being overanalytical - lol.
