My input is to wait for a color matched one. Painting it properly is expensive or a pita to do it well. I like the look of my white cap sooooo much more

Yeah I like the idea of a color matched better unless I get one ridiculously cheap that isn’t color matched.

The other one I was talking about is color matched but it seems a little off dealing with the guy.

Texted him to let him know I was getting a color matched shell and he literally texted me right back. Like WTH! Oh well.

Yeah I can wait and hopefully find one that I like a whole lot better. Just want it before it gets warm and camping season starts.

Guy says he wants $600. Just doesn’t seem like it fits all that well to me. :notsure: Back glass doesn’t hang over tailgate like I’ve seen most do.

I do like the look of the rhino lined shell on the MGM though.

Yeah that’s odd. What’s even more odd is the mounting points on the inside are made for a Toyota rail. You slide a t nut in the rail, and bolt through those little parts hanging down on the inside of the cap.

I wouldn’t pay $600 for that. Maybe $450 if you could check out the tailgate seal

Yeah I’m sure that’ll fix it. Just looks a little odd!

Would you say that mounting system is better?

I was thinking less than $450. Maybe $350-$400. That’s the guy that was selling the truck and is willing to separate. I do like that it has the rack already though.

It’s a pretty solid system. Between both trucks, I’ve had that style, leer style, and the kind where it just clamps down. All have worked fine off road, so I can’t say ones better than the other.

That’s one of those shells you try and get for stupid cheap. Probably will just keep looking honestly.

It seems pretty solid as long as the fiberglass is still in good shape on the mounting spots.

Yeah and worst case the regular Toyota clamps would work on it

He’s probably asking that much because of the rack. He says it’s a Yakima but it ain’t worth what he thinks it is.
