Anyone cut through the chrome bumper yet?

 

Looks good! Have you noticed if it interferes with the BSM or any components at all. I’d be afraid to mess something up.

I wonder how it would look on the chrome caps.

 

I just used a blue clip jump connector and tied it into the white wire on the back of the big round plug. The middle wire is reverse. I just did it temporarily, and planned to make some more solid weatherproof connectors.

Should look good. I think they will look good regardless of color. I plan to professionally paint mine black, so I wasn't too worried about the coloring.

 

I'll probably wait to pick up an extra set of bumper caps to do this mod so whatever reason I can switch back if need be.

How hard would it be to leave the bumber cap on and use a dremel to cut the hole?

 

Great job, very much an OEM appearance. I have mine set-up (on a 1st Gen) to go on/off any time, so that I can use the light at night while hooking up a trailer etc.

I am thinking of doing the same thing on my third gen. Just hook them up to a push switch. Plus then its kinda got a double use you know. Those A**holes that like to ride my ass on the highway might get a little surprise at night time

Do you think placing hte lights on the outer pumper caps will light up the area where you'd hook up a trailer?

I was thinking about the rigid ignites in the black plastic inside the bumper caps, mostly because I was worred that backup and blindspot sensors would block any lights in those caps. But seems like you made it work.
