Now THAT'S an abstract piece. The abstract thought behind that though is rather mean Tim.

Did that take a while? After all the cuts are made, are the edges of the fender visible? You ever see those sheet metal nippers? They chew thru the metal pretty quickly and accurately.

Worked really well. I’d probably use and angle grinder if I did it again though.

angle grinder typically heats up the paint too much and causes it to peel/burn around the cut.

i used a jigsaw as well but my patience is near zero so my cuts arent perfect anyways

I painted the edges with bed liner anyway,so that wasn’t a concern for me.

    Everything TW members recommend
I’m still up in the air on what tire size to go up to from my 255’s.

Go 35” with a lot of surgery or go the route of 34” like @Chux ter and @TNT4X4 with minimal surgery.

Also, what do peeps think about ST-Pro’s vs. ST-Maxx’s in 34” or 35”.

I already have 255 ST-Maxx’s and they will be my DD tires. I’ll mount up the 34 or 35’s when I do trails.

I have nothing bad to say about the 34s.. For me they are the perfect tire for me. I think 35s be cool if I was more involved in offroad parks but I hit the pavement a lot for hours and hours to get offroad. So that extra inch isn’t missed with a little less weight and a touch better mpgs.. As you said there was a lot less trimming to do as well which is nice. The only kicker is, not sure your wheel size but they only have this size available for 17” wheels. So going from 255/80/17 it was the extra sidewall I gained that makes all the difference. Height gain of course but didn’t have to sacrifice the width much either.. still within the fender flares (tho front flares are still off from install).

As far as maxx vs stt pro. Never had the pros so can’t say. They look like they would be great offroad but not sure how their road manners are.
