I know several of these are solved by mods, but this is my wish list:

Electric or pull released smooth gas door with cap hook much like many other Toyotas
    Passenger side proximity/ door sensors
    TSS
Front park & cross traffic sensors
    Front camera/Birds eye view
Better OEM tail lights preferably w/amber blinkers
Higher quality OEM fogs & headlights that match the DRL color temp - ie stock quad projector
    Better engine/tranny tune
Puddle lights ...on proximity sensors & manual switch ie cab light
Passenger mat anchors - they were not stock in 16's & 17's
    Ordering with more detailed customization
Option of color keyed or raw black trim parts on TRD and up trims - Mirrors, flairs, mirror covers, rear bumper caps, front bumper
Option to exclude roof hole (moon roof) on package options.

You should have them? If you leave the parking lights or headlights on, they should turn off after the set amount of time in your head unit. I can't remember if the default is 1min or 30sec. I set mine to 30sec.

It took me a few days to trust it, but I like it much more than automatic headlights that work off of a sensor.

Why not just put it in park while doing 70, then shift into reverse????? I dont see what the fuss is

There is a holder, you put the tether thru the clip on the gas door.

That is capable of holding the cap yes.

The bed rail is also capable of holding my beer.

However, neither were designed for these specific tasks.

Edit - Example: Camry, Rav4 and many other Toyota vehicles DO have a cap holder designed mechanism on the inside of the door.

Not sure I see how this isn't a viable solution. Yes it doesn't have the cap holder built in the door like my wifes RAV, but I doubt this is an accidental design.

Here's a Yaris that uses a similar method as the Tacoma.

Also, it was suggested in another thread to move the tether from that inner hole to the next one out. It was easy to do and there is no more stretching to get it to the clip.

OK.. When I opened the gas door, I did not instinctively think I should hang the gas cap by the cord on the friction latch, clearly that was the intention of making the tether that particular length.

Also.. 100% of the Toyota engineers and designers I spoke with said nothing about the tether and friction latch being designed to hold the gas cap while fueling. (True story)

Do you mean just leaving the low beams on? I only have a selector for DRL, side markers and low beams.

Maybe the engineers didn't think they would need to explain how a gas can catch works... Let's be honest here, lots of things on these trucks aren't as intuitive as they could be, check out the 4x4 mode thread for real proof of this.

Yes! I have a non-tech / non-premium Sport with the DRL function. I never use the DRL function, just parking lights (side markers), headlights (low beams), or off. I hate DRLs on cars / trucks because I'm a rider, and also peeps with full automatic lights and full-time back lit gauges like to drive with no other lights on.

So, your SR5 should be the same as mine. If you just leave stalk alone, the lights will turn off by themselves. I just dig that function.

No matter where one would like to put their gas cap while fueling, this thread is "Features you wish you had on your truck". :boink:

I DO wish my taco came with a cap hook built in on the gas door much like the Rav4 (wife's 2018) or Camry (daughter's 2018 & mother-in-law's 2010).

I apologize if a feature that I wish my truck came with somehow offends someone. :hattip:

I'm still on the transfer case stick. But, can't do anything about that now.
