TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

yes, supercharged,2.85, trd flash, It run great, enough power for my needs. love power & speed but sometimes, i'm hesitant on throwing tons of cash at it. a couple of years ago i got a camaro ss & it gives me the more power I need when i really want to go fast.

My UCON came with the expansion harness back in 2013

 

Here’s a heads up. Found this today when I pulled the Supercharger.

The spring clamp was rubbing, and cutting into, the SC. The other hose has a flat spot from rubbing on the SC.

I rotated the spring clamps, and will put rubber between the hoses and SC when I put it back on.

Anyway, check yours if this isn’t a known problem.

2.825 pulley pulled, Snout cut back 10mm (good call @Roostfactor ), 2.55 pulley pressed on, 61 lb injectors & adapter harnesses installed.

Spark plugs arrive Wed, intake Thu, so I’m waiting on parts to proceed.

First, I pulled the front tires for a more reasonable working height.

Hey folks, does anyone know the part number or size of this coolant hose? Mine is leaking at the clamp (arrow on the right) and I think it's because the clamp dug into the hose. Any help would be great.

 

Ah, this is where I throw out my Figs Engineering option and the world hates me. I think you can move that clamp and tighten it some more. My lid was leaking on my reservoir and I was convinced it was that clamp. I replaced the lid. Still leaked.

You already spent a bunch of money on your truck. Give it the reservoir that it deserves.

 

I don’t mean to hate, and I am sure it is a very nice piece. I just don’t get how we can buy a complete aluminum radiator that is bigger than stock for cheaper than that tiny tank :/

 

Its not the hose or the clamp.

Its the fucking reservoir. The texture on the nipples seems to prevent a decent seal between it and the hose. This is a common problem.

 

@#$%!!! You're hating already. Just love the little reservoir. I have NO leaks. I'm sure the savings in antifreeze is paying it out.

 

Hahaha. I want to love it but she isnt even bigger than the stock tank
If it was maybe 2x the amount I could justify it somehow.

Or just relocate the battery to the bed and mount that big SOB that is in the op.
