I guess I'm the exception. I had a 2006 GTI that went 141000 miles before I traded it in. Only two problems. The first was an intake cam that came from the factory improperly hardened. They fixed that on warranty. Then at about 80k, the wastegate (VW has a different name) failed. Other than that, it was usual maintenance. It was a manual transmission and mostly driven on the interstate.

I had a 82 Scirocco. Sitting at a stop light one day the horn just went off by itself and wouldn't stop. The people in front of me were like WTF is your problem? It eventually stopped but it would still beep in the middle of a turn sometimes.

Here's a video of this guy. If he would've blasted himself high enough, he could have proven once and for all that the world is indeed flat! All the science we have been fed for years can be disproven...o_O

Until then, I'm on the "spherical earth" side of the argument.

WTF is that this had to be turned into a freaking law? Pretty sure that it was just called being a kid back in the day

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/utah-just-passed-america-first-113313748.html

"The so-called “free-range kids” bill was signed into law by Republian Gov. Gary Herbert on Friday after the state House and Senate voted unanimously to approve the legislation.

The new law, which will take effect on May 8, specifies that it is not a crime for parents to allow kids who display maturity and good judgment to do things like walk to school alone or play outside without supervision."

Definitely an each-to-their-own thing. Not sure that can even mall-crawl.

Though to be fair, name another convertible-top SUV. :)

    Nissan Murano?

But I think that nightmare was euthanized :fenforcer:

Though the Murano Cabriolet would likely look right at home with those wheels and tires mounted. :D

While you can take the doors off a Murano (gawd that was fugly), putting them back on is a wee bit tricky.

Having owned a Wrangler, it *is* a lot of fun toodling around town with the top and doors off. Those tires wouldn't have worked for me though, while no overland riding here, there's enough slick mud in and around forest service road campsites that 4WD comes in handy at times even if most of the time my Wrangler was on pavement.

Needed a pickup truck bed though, so ended up migrating to my Tacoma. I have a Miata MX5 for the top-down fun.

Pretty sure the script at the top is FAITH

And that looks like an Atlanta Braves "A" at the bottom.

So I guess they have faith in the Atlanta Braves? :notsure:

That's a University of Alabama script-A, not Atlanta Braves.

The difference is the thingy going left off the top of the A. Bama has it, Braves doesn't.

The Roll Tide license plate might be just a little bit of a hint... :)
