well, I don't think that went as planned.

 

Looks like he had a helmet or hat on that flew off as he hit the ground. He’s special!

 

I think they had helmets (there were two guys with quads doing it). It gets even more special when you realize this was at the intersection at the bottom of the eagles lake on/off ramp from 80west. There weren't many cars exiting or getting on while we aired up but still, they couldve played in the snow where they parked there car just 50yards away.

 

would have been a little softer landing.

 

Is that pavement under the snow/slush? That's gonna hurt a bunch.

 

yup. its asphalt. it wasn't icy or anything, just wet from the snow coming down all day. They really had a whole playground just 50 yards away in the snow covered part of eagles lake road but decided that was the best spot to do donuts and what not.

 

Yeah, that's just dumb.

I've hit the ground like that on a bicycle a few times. You get pretty good at it. But the best thing to do (besides not punching the ground with your body in the 1st place) is to get back up and keep going before the pain starts to set in.

hahaha...There were two guys on quads and I was watching this guy the whole time he was doing doughnuts and trying to pop wheelies on wet/snowy road and kept thinking what a freaking idiot because he was just throwing this thing around. Also, there was a Husky standing close by and was trying to chase him(I think it was his dog ) and I kept thinking what kind of idiot lets their dog loose on freeway exit????? This guy got lucky once before when he almost flipped it, but then he started pushing the quad again. Second time he wasn't so lucky. His quad broke and people were picking up parts from the intersection and they had to flip his quad back on wheels and that when Caltrans guy showed up and after that ambulance and cops. He did put a good show for a while though!

 

I used jack stands to hold in place and then jacked em up into place. Worked great. But the long slender plates with nuts, that took a long time for me to cram my arm down in the frame to get the bolts threaded into the nut. The passenger side doesn't have any brake lines in the way, it was much easier. small hands and long slender forearms will be better for this part of the install (wifey can earn hers here).

 

damn i missed the rest of that shit show. I took off and just finished airing up at Nyack. I should've just stayed for @CrashN'Burn to calm that caltrans guy down and relocated with you guys to see the rest of it.

I did mine by myself, but they were PITA when it came to lifting them up. Since, you have a long bed as well, I am not sure if you got the full length ones, I got full length with kick-outs and they are heavy as hell. I almost damaged my rocker panel accidentally, but was able to save right in time. I would definitely recommend having second person because that will help a lot, but can be done with one person if needed. I used two jack's and some wooden blocks (one in the front and one in the back) to make sure both side were stable and lined up properly since its easy to move the jack around if needed.

By the way thanks for radio battery charger man...I think my radio's battery is bad so need to get a new one. I gave your charger to Joshua since I didn't see you after airing up.
