Not even one bit.... Although I do wanna switch up to an actual 9100 due to some of the functions that come with it, even tho they done justify the $550 price tag

Ok, so @Rome604 and @tonered. I have the following parts

    1.jpg

I also have what looks to be the same 24 pin harness to chop on as in your post @Rome604 (pre research on front cam) coming in soon. My goal is to control all of it with these switches. Hit "Reverse Camera" switch to initiate rear cam at any time (applying power to the post-diode end of the harness), switch to front camera by hitting the "Front Camera" switch (knowing that I'll have to hit both if I want to go right to front camera). GPS was just an add-on since I was going to be in there soldering anyway.

Now, once the 24 pin comes in, I was thinking about grabbing one of these to control the front camera selection upon activation. Could this work on some sort of relay setup with 12v hitting from the switch?

I just searched eBay for switch pro 9100 and someone is selling them at $425. Not sure if there’s a difference between the prices in product.

Edit: if eBay does the 20% off coupon again that would be a great deal. Switch pro 9100 for $340!

This is the equivalent of the 8100... So if you dont really care for the gimmicks that the 9100 provides, I'd say save your money and pick this up instead... 8 switches... Really cant go wrong with this, all it misses from the SP-8100 is the logo on the damn switchboard and module (which doesn't hinder performance from what I remember lol)

Nice. Does it give you the strobe option?

This is what you want for 3rd Gen Tcase that is spec’d or anything equal. LF is low friction as in most all GL4 MTL fluids with lower sulfur, you don’t want higher friction on softer metals it eats them away.

    https://www.oempartsource.com/oem-p...MI3vjr4oGL2gIVRUsNCh0q2QzuEAQYASABEgKdNfD_BwE

But, this Tcase fluid is expensive and I believe even the dealers are putting in 75W90 to save money, he’ll even the factory may be putting in whatever to save money. It’s crazy there’s been so many new Tcase failures recently.

So the answer to your question is you shouldn’t worry in the short term, but long term I wouldn’t use a GL5 in the Tcase. You have LT which I believe means light truck diff gear oil.

Again it’s about 1qt so I honestly think people use whatever which is not good long term.

Negative. Thats one of the gimmicks on the 9100, I called SP to ask if I could just pick up the switch panel (as I assume that's where the Bluetooth/app connectivity comes from for the strobe option) and they wont sell it separately...

Good to know. For $340 I would probably buy it even though I really don’t need it. Haha does it look like that $425 one is the real deal?

Great review...hard cap vs anything else. I also had a Gatortrax retractable tonneau cover.....worked great except any tonneau cover as you mentioned really constrains what you can pack back there....even some larger ice chests....that don’t fit.
Love my ARE Overland cap....greatly expanded my cargo area and ease to get to it all with Windoors.
One other ‘feature’ is I have the BedRug.....just the bottom part not the complete bottom and wall cover. If I happen to get anything like sand, dirt whatever.....I can easily pull it out and clean it, spray it down etc. and after drying stick it back in.
Also with the Yakima racks to carry my longboard....and anything else if needed, lumber etc.
One of the best mods I ever did to my Taco besides those Clazzio’s...

Wanted to add that my Bedrug stays pretty flat though that pic was from when I first got it.
Also this Toyota net I got off of Amazon....great to carry anything including my wife’s wine bottles.... ; )

Thanks I saw that and responded.

I tend to call it a shell but now I flip to topper as well.

    Thanks QS brother!

I'm jealous that you have windoors but I got a decent deal used for this one so I'm ok about it.

I like that 2 tone look as well.

I need to copy your lighting set up. Right now I didn't even wire the tiny dome light it came with. I'm just using a handheld light when I need something. lol.

Well I paid big bucks for that Overland. Would have preferred something like yours....cheaper!
You can get some great battery powered LED strip lights, waterproofed like the ones in my image on the lower sides. You could stick one down the middle of the ceiling...

The circuit amperage of this unit is much lower than Switchpros. Not sure if that matters to anyone interested, but it’s not really equivalent.

    Umm, yikes?

I just use the head unit to control the front camera. I do loose audio and am okay with that. Other folks don't like it, so there is an add-on cable for that in the HAI thread. I still need to mount the anytime rear camera switch. So, I am not going to be much help. Sorry!

This will work if you get a double pole double throw relay along with another wiring harness (assuming you don't want to cut your factory wires). I'll draw something up on Visio tonight if I have time.
