5100 on trd sport // would like to hear from you guys

I am not looking to do a crazy lift / or offroading /// probably 85% highway some local city some hunting trails my quads in the dirty work

that being said, are the trd sport coils + bilstein 5100 going to ride substantially more stiff that stock?

looking to level the truck maybe a 1" in the rear

That is what I was thinking with the OME. /// I was figuring the sport springs are stiff already so preloading them for lift wasnt really the most ideal for me i was just looking for first hand input thank you

 

thank you hands on experience I was thinking i should go with OME coils and a small AAL in the rear sounds like i have to keep saving

 

The 6112s come packaged with coils for not a lot more - and i can attest that i love the way they ride. Just another option.

 

The sport ride is already stiff. Aftermarket suspension seems about the same stiffness except when you hit hard it's like a cloud.

 

I’ve got the 5100s on my 16DBCB TRD off-road on the 5th botch and rides like a Cadillac

 

Yo what are you guys talking about? OP it’s not going to be much different. I mean sure it’ll be stiffer but it’s not like it completely changes the truck. This is coming from a guy running OME 886’s with no weight up front.

If I were you I’d do bilstien 5100s set at zero with 885 coils and a 1inch rear spacer. That will give you what you’re looking for and ride quality will be about the same. That’s about the best bang for the buck you can get too.

 

Stock springs?

 

Yessir Factory UCA, stock spring just 5100s on 5th notch rides great not a single issue.

 

Really no need for the springs unless you have a winch, and armor bumper.

 

I’m about to buy 5100’s all around. But I might get a C4Fab low profile bumper (without wench) in the future.

Wonder if I should get upgraded springs now?

 

I would buy the springs if your going aftermarket steel bumper they have a tendency to be fairly heavy, the springs would compensate at that point

How do the 6112s ride compared to the Sport suspension? Most of the reviews on TW are compared to the OR suspension (and therefore useless to me).

 

Im not sure man, I have not even checked. I bought it used with 2900 miles on it. The original owner had the 5100’s and the duratracs put on and then decided he didnt want the truck anymore and traded it in for a brand new ram 1500. His loss was my gain, I got a super good deal on it. I like the 5100’s but the guy put a block in the rear so Im going to go the ADS route and some dakars out back here soon
