I may have tweaked a few things...
I was recently on their website after finding them on CL. I like how you can lookup a vehicle and they list parts available, even with model information when they have it. Like aftermarket bumpers and winches. I don’t think they had pricing but still nice to have that level of information.

I haven’t been to their location yet but I work near there so I might have to check it out.

Would a place like that also be a good place to take old parts or do I need to go to a recycler specifically? I have an old set of shocks to get rid of but Keifer landfill doesn’t take parts filled with liquids, etc. It doesn’tnlook Too hard to drain them myself but then I have to find containers and it seems like there should be a place that does that.

If there is a way to recycle something i’ll figure out how to do it. Sac city says it’s a curbside pickup item only. I haven’t used either my yearly pickups and I can definitely round up enough to make it worth while.

Just finished doing a diy mount for my hi lift, how do you guys prevent theft? I’m currently thinking of just chain and lock to the bed...sadly I live in a area that’s somewhat ghetto F1EF1B8B-1E82-4F44-A90B-853AE03A9533.jpg

I'd consider that part of my recovery gear. I'd leave it in the garage until I need to take it with me.

Hey guys! I just finished up some stuff on the truck and I’m going to Prairie City this weekend to make sure the stuff doesnt fall off. Idk if anyone has any plans but I figured I would throw it out there. I thought it would be too muddy out there but I went last weekend and it was perfect. Obligatory pic from last weekend.

Need it to jack the truck up if I have a flat, my dad had a flat with my truck once, wasn’t able to jack up the truck with the stock jack. Ran into some other hunters and they were able to change the tire somehow

I would think that, in a pinch, you could use the stock jack plus a short length of 4x4 to change the tire.

Hard to tell how big the bolt is that runs thru the hi lift but when I lived in the ghetto I drilled a hole thru it and put a lock on it

I didn’t think of making my mount go through the holes on the jack, I drilled holes into the mount I made and put a 2” 3/8 screw through mine and used a nut to hold it down.

Hard to tell from my terrible picture but it is just a bolt that goes thru the jack with a wing nut holding it on then the lock going thru the bolt. I can get a better picture when I get home if you want. My bolt may be bigger then yours I’ll have to check when i get to my truck

Are the brackets secure as well or is this just to stop opportunity thieves? It wouldn’t be hard to design a locking cover plate for the bracket bolts but it’s not something i’ve seen outside of locking bike mounts.

Just opportunity thieves. I thought about getting security bolts but figured they were more likely to just cut the lock off as it would be 2 locks vs 4 bolts which they would need the right size socket on and those security bolts cost about as much as the hi lift. If they want it bad enough they will get it either way, making it inconvenient for them works the majority of the time.
I just checked and yes I am :taco:

Every little thing helps. It’s the same with my camper shell, I know it’s not going to stop someone but it will slow them down.

I'm sure you get "thanks, man" or "thanks, bro" quite often.
