i'm on Cooper ST Maxx E 265/65-17... the diameter is very low for an E tire so they are less compliant than other E tires. so i can run lower pressures.

i've done the chalk test in different seasons, and for now i'm at 27front cold and 24 rear cold, comes up to 30F & 27R when warm. and it's perfect.

Oh god. When mine were at 50, it like I was driving on a washboard dirt road. Dropping to 40 will make a HUGE difference for ya. I'm actually running 35 now, and like it quite a bit.

265/70/r16 KO2s - 18k Miles, 38 PSI all around. It’s not as smooth as the stock ATs but I don’t find it to be harsh. In fact I like that it feels like a truck.

Big difference! No more white knuckle driving lol! 2014 4Runners are 4400 lbs while 2014 Tacoma double cab is 3890 lbs so I might drop the psi since many 4Runners run that same 35 psi.

They don't give 'em away, that's for sure! I tried a new tire this winter (saved $50 per tire). I went with the Dean Backcountry MT 255/85/16 load E. I was very pleased with them, but in reality I don't think I've ever hated a tire the first winter. I just put the M55s back on for some long road trips coming up. I don't want to burn off the new rubber!

I notice the corners of the edge tread really start wearing around 35 psi and lower. My truck does weigh about 6000 pounds though, so you might have a little more wiggle room. I actually just pulled several hundred pounds of stuff out of the truck for the adventures mentioned above - to be replaced with a significant amount of weight in toys related to the river trips coming up.

The best thing I ever did was get the E-rated Goodyear Wrangler Wallyworld Authorities off of my Tacoma. Lesson learned, heavy, stiff, rough, noisy. I run 33X12.5X15 BFG AT on my Jeep and they are not E rated and it sees use that would make a Tacoma chicken out. I just do not see the need on this size vehicle except for the most bomb proof rugged use, severe duty. They are significantly heavier per tire, about 10 to 14 pounds, which kills suspension, fuel economy, reduces acceleration/performance, increases braking distance and increases wear and tear on the vehicle drive line. Some folks may need bomb proof tires but most do not even if they think they do. Just another opinion.

E-Load BFG KO2's didn't work for me. Balanced out good but the smoothest highway psi was 38. Off the highway onto older roads around town the truck was stiff as a board.
Just got rid of them and got another set of Dura-Tracs in a C-load. Currently running 36 F&R. Nice plush ride and the balance is perfect.

Ive got E rated Cooper st/maxx's at 36 front/ 34 rear. Road noise minimal for an M/T and rides as good as it did with C rated Michelins:)

    hi tacoma world!
newbie, tire ignorant: I have hopes of adding a scout yoho camper to my '16 TRD Sport dlb/crew 5ft bed. I currently have Bridgestone A/T Dueler 265/65/17.
I've been told that they are not E tires but are they burly enough to handle a camper that is below the recommended weights?

If the camper doesn't exceed the payload capacity of the truck and the tires meet the factory specs for capacity you will be fine. This is assuming that the tires are in good shape and aren't more than 5 or 6 years old.
