I stopped by Banana Raceway last night to check out the carpet racing. They had 2 people running in the Formula car race and 4 in the GT Touring class. I know they do racing other nights, but it wasn't anywhere close to how busy Indy gets on a Saturday. Probably 10 people there total between all the classes. I stayed for about 45 mins and left.

Here's the rules for the rally racing.

    2017 LSSRA Rules

-LSSRA is a racing association to promote scale type rally competition amongst scale-appearing 1/10 scale cars on tracks created to provide scale driving experiences. These rules, as written, are designed primarily to keep a scale appearance to the cars and prevent them from becoming small short course trucks, while allowing for as much innovation as possible.

    -Chassis
Any 1/10 scale touring chassis is legal- belt, shaft, front, rear, or AWD.
    Max wheelbase 260mm
    Max track width 200mm
Max ground clearance at ride height 21mm
    No minimum or maximum weight

    -Tires/Wheels
Any 26mm or 30mm treaded tire that fits on a 26 or 30mm touring car wheel.
    Any insert is acceptable.
    No full-face dish wheels
No slicks, and tires must have visible tread across the full tread width.
Sauce means that you are trying too hard.

    -Bodies
Absolutely no generic jellybean “race” bodies
Any 190 or 200mm sedan body, representing a car that has been rallied at least once somewhere in the world, is completely acceptable.
When viewed from above, the body must cover the entire tire.
The front bumper/airdam/splitter must extend at least to the bottom of the chassis’ foam bumper.
Wheelwells may not be enlarged past the factory trim lines.
Any livery is entirely acceptable. Drivers are encouraged to attempt to make the body look as much like a full-size rally car as possible.
All cars must have clear windows.
All bodies must have grille, headlight, and taillight decals, or head and taillight buckets.
Working head/taillights will only be mandatory at night events, however, drivers are encouraged to install them in the interest of scale appearance.

    -Electronics
Any 540-sized motor, brushed or brushless, is legal.
Any 2S Lipo or any 6 or 7 cell NiMh battery is fine.
    Gyros or D-Boxes are legal.

    Recommendations:

Chassis: Tamiya XV-01, TT-02, TL-01, TA-01/02, DF03-RA, MST XXX-Rally, Associated TC4, Apex, Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0, Vaterra V100. Really, any touring car can be converted to a rally car, these are just “known good” choices.
Tires: HPI Pirelli Rally, Tamiya Rally Blocks, MST LTX, Firebrand RXG
Bodies with short overhangs handle the rougher terrain better.
Sensored brushless or brushed motors are easier to drive on slippery surfaces, and too much power is worse than not enough.

Location: 977 Ledbetter Road Coppell TX

Reasonable rules, it was a really chill group, short event done by noon. I can get on board with that.

I vote White Settlement. I need to go to Tandem on Saturday to meet Shay and swap gas tank straps, but free after that or open all day Sunday.

No electronics in her (waiting on fuel cell reciever box and trying to stab her with a mamba x), waiting on the snorkle to get here, and some small link rubbage, but here she is!! Other than the ride height being higher than I want, happy with the turnout. I’m sure I’ll add some more LEDs in the future, but glad the project finally came together.

im ready to be off nights so i can get back to these group crawls!

SCX probably needs to be taken apart and cleaned. Its still muddy from the last mud bogg session John and I had at Bridgeport OHV. We submarined our trucks multiple times and im pretty sure it needs some soap, grease, and oil!

Sounded kinda gritty out in Gilmer

Slapped some panels on her, to save the Betty body until a snorkle arrives. She’s packing a mamba x 2280kv combo, and holy shit balls, its a whole new level. As soon as we got out to little elm, for a sesh, I noticed the front diff was clicking, sooooo, naturally,I ran it til the pinion gear stripped out. Have a spare, but haven’t had time to swap it yet. Still need to waterproof her, and Reroute the led bar wire, so it’s not running through the cab, lol.

On a side note, it’s almost RACEDAY!!!

i washed to hoe runner today. I picked it up and tried to turn the wheels and it was kinda difficult so i decided i needed to wash it and investigate.

I found that there was some grass that had wound itself up 1 of my wheels in between the wheel and axle. After removing that and adding a bit of oil its moving much easier and ready to crawl again!

Its been a month so Sgt Slaughter is ready to play again! When is the next crawl meet??

Body is starting to show some wear...
