Aftermarket Seat?

Im 5'11", when i sit in driver seat. i look out the top 1/4 of windscreen, where its mostly blue tinted.

Has anyone lowered the seat, installed a different seat (OEM or Aftermarket) and fooled the airbag ECU?

Open to suggestions..

 

recline your seat more, you're not going to find a lowered seat, just move the chair forwards, pull the wheel out and recline

 

Id recline it more.... recline more = PAIN !

 

There's honestly not a whole lot you can do

 

FRS seats fit with a little modification. There's a few threads if you dig.

 

Pretty sure you can modify the rails on the seats to make them lower.

I see sets going for $3k.....with in 300 miles..

 

Get a Corbeau or Recaro. They place your seating position lower, even with the bracket.

My bro just put Corbeaus in his T4R, they definitely sit lower and they're super comfy, especially on long trips and on bumpy trails.

 

You can find FRS seats for around $250-300/shipped per seat via eBay. Sometimes you can find better deals that that for a pair. It’s where I bought mine.

Problem with aftermarket seats is you’ll need to fool the ECU. Benefit of FRS seats is the driver side is “relatively” plug n play. Down side is passenger side you still need a OCS (weight sensor) bypass and only people that sell it is MetalTech4x4. But the airbags will all be functional and you won’t get any dash lights.

Edit: I know the main issue with aftermarket vs FRS is you can probably get a nicer aftermarket seat, but regardless I find the FRS seats actually more comfy/supportive vs my TRD seats

 

Corbeau rails will sit you a LOT lower. In fact, I had to stack a bunch of fender washers to raise up the rear/height. I'm 5'9.

OCS bypass module can be purchased straight from the source. I think his name is Scott Mcclure or something.
