Any woodworkers?

It was early this mornin an light is bad but here it is after the water and paint from last night

 

I started with like 2:1 water to paint but that was way too much, I basically got down to the water that you have cleaned your brush out in for a day. the oil based stain I used may have had some inhibition on allowing the paint to soak into the wood and helped some with the pronunciation (however, It may not have)

 

this was my first attempt at white washing and I was hoping that the stain would have given me the effect I was going for. I have glazed a few piece of furniture that I painted but I try and stay away from painting as much as possible haha
I painted this bench antique white (rattle can) and rubbed a mocha (I think, some kind of dark brown) glaze on it, it really stands out in the knots and in between the boards where you cant wipe as much back off.

I guess it would have helped if I put this picture in...

 

I want to build a truck bed drawer like TruckVaults. It will be exposed to the elements and needs to be weatherproof.
Can you guys help me with brainstorming?
Drawer dimensions are going to be 6'x4'x1'. 2 5' drawers with a 1' cubby near the cab.



Thoughts:
I am thinking MDO, but not sure on the thickness.
What types of joins should I use?
Exterior will be bedlined with a diy kit.

Any suggestions?

 

Banff is on my list of places to visit this year. Never been but I can’t wait. I also dabble in the woodwork here and there. I’ve been a cabinetmaker full time twice in my life. Here’s one of the only kitchens I have a pic of after loosing all of my pics from a corrupt backup. Had to take a pic of a pic because I liked this one so much I wanted to remember it

 

Beauty! Clean and warm, functional and open. If you had to guess, how long ago did you do that kitchen? It's interesting to see how trends go for kitchen designs. That's a pretty popular style (In my area at least) and I'm personally a big fan. Just curious if the 'trend-cycle' has gone full circle again.

 

Thanks! It’s been about a year and a half. If you notice the backsplash is done out of subway tile, which to me will be one of those things that 30 years from now will let someone know what time period it was done in lol. Seems like the last 2 years subway tile is everywhere! This picture doesn’t do the size of the room justice. The cabinets are just under 11ft tall and that island was around 14’ in length. Those huge doors in the back are actually the opening to the pantry, the owner just wanted everything to look seamless. I definitely enjoy the mix of rustic/modern in this one. The cabinets aren’t painted either btw. We used a conversion varnish with a heavy white pigment in it to give it a paint look but the durability of a real finish. For the record, as nice as white looks, I’d never in a million years choose to do my own kitchen in white. It literally shows everything! Even if you brush up against it with your pants and a river slides across it..boom there’s a line lol

This is exactly what I was thinking. We used to something almost identical at the old shop I worked at.

 

Nice work! I like that blend of styles too.

And if you can get to Banff, do it. You won't regret it. Everywhere you turn it looks like a postcard. We used an iphone picture of our family from the top of Sulphur Mountain as our Chirstmas Card last year. The background was so perfect everyone thought it was photoshopped.
