Well if you could find that I’d (as well as many others I’m sure) would greatly appreciate it. You can’t take that damn clip off without breaking it!

I apologize for the confusion. I’m currently moving to Montana, so it will take me some time to get that part number for you.

no worries, I actually bought 2 of those same clips you have pictured this morning from my local dealer. I will find out for sure this evening if they work or not.

I can CONFIRM that 89348-35010 WILL NOT work with the factory sensor. it will snap into the hole but the sensor will not snap and hold tight into this retainer ring. so I will be ordering the Tundra sensor off Amazon tonight.

Has anyone found the part number that corresponds to the correct retainer for our trucks? Went to 3 local dealerships and had no luck. One of the parts guys was patient enough to go through 20+ model/year combos searching for the correct piece. All he turned up was the entire sensor/retainer part for the EDLP of $250.......

I’m almost to the point of ordering the eBay special entire sensor retainer for 18-25 bones.

PS. Long time reader, new member, first post.

No clip works or fits exactly like the Tacoma one included with the sensor. I just had my entire sensor replaced due to a broken retainer but it was due to be hit so not out of my pocket. I would recommend the ebay special if its only the clip you need.

Good luck. This is a stupid small part that Toyota should offer as a replacement.

the $20 sensor for the Tundra on Amazon does work just like factory. the retaining ring is exactly the same. but it is only the one off of Amazon. I don't have the link to the correct part, but it isn't hard to find.

I know this is an old thread, but I have the exact same problem with a Toyota Rav4 - broken retaining ring, sensor still ok, only replacement part is the entire sensor (89341-42060-C0). The information here in Tacoma World has been the most helpful in understanding the problem and potential fixes, so thanks to all who posted.

One question, if anyone is still listening: how hard is it to remove the retaining ring from a new sensor? Someone mentioned it is easily broken, and it sure does look delicate. Does it twist? Or do you have to lift some plastic tabs around the sides? How many, and do they all need to be done at once to avoid snapping something? I'd prefer not to replace another "$200 retaining ring".

Any advice or cautionary tales would be appreciated; if not, thanks again for all the information already posted here.

the rings are very very sensitive. you have to use a small screwdriver to kinda pry it away from the sensor being extra careful not to break it. it isn't the easiest thing to do, but it can be done. just be very careful. thats about all the advice I can give ya.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know, no special trick to keep it from breaking. May be worth the extra few $ to have an experienced shop install it, they can get under the bumper more easily than I can anyway.

So I have to resurrect this thread because I now have a broken sensor and retainer. It seems like these two parts will work; can anyone confirm? And is there an option on fleabay with both the sensor and retainer included? Thanks. Here are the two parts I'm talking about for replacement:
