Look for "classic fits" in whatever brand - dockers, etc. Most men's clothes today are tailored "slim" by default, which does not work for the lifting gentleman.

The jeans I found that are suuuuper comfy were IZOD stretchy jeans from Costco. Also they have a brand called urban star that are stretchy as well. I think they both run 14.99. I just picked up some IZOD ones in a 36 but that was too big so I'm going to try a 34. The Urban star one is about right on the size. Give them a shot! They'll take them back too if you dont like them even if you wore them for a few months.

OK @ThunderCookies , the unofficial understudy of Lyle McDonald and Body Rescomposition, please enlighten me.

    So how does one recomp?

What kind of caloric deficits are we looking at?

How much should I be aiming to lose per month (or aim to lose none - ideally)?

How much body fat should I be losing per month given perfect dietary adherence?

Contrastingly how much muscle mass should I be expecting to gain per month?

Can I do my normal Wendler while recomping or do I need to avoid pure hypertrophy programs?

First of all, it's pretty much impossible to gain muscle mass while in a caloric deficit, unless you are on AAS. It's very difficult, while doable... to maintain what muscle you have by eating the proper amount of protein.

Just wanted to throw that out there. Be well :) :)

I think in theory to 'recomp' you would be staying at the same weight while lowering your bodyfat. I.E. gaining muscle and losing fat...

I am 100% clueless when it comes to diet/nutrition. My PT cert had 1 chapter on nutrition but is riddled with disclaimers so everyone will know I am not a nutritionist nor certified to give nutritional advice.

I just know what works for me (most of the time). I am currently working on dropping my BF% while still maintaining my competition weight and also increasing strength for my next competition. Here is what I am currently adhering to...

    Comp weight 181
    Current weight 180
Current BF 17% (measured by a smart scale from my feet, it is much lower when I use calipers ~13%)
    Workout 4x week
    On workout days consume 424c 103f 224p 3530cal
On off days ~2800-3000cal (majority of this deficit comes from lack of carbs for pre and intra workout, pop tart, cookies, banana...) while occasionally intermittent fasting (1-2x per week)

Those who get my snaps can attest to the slow and steady progress I've made to leaning out and all my lifts have been going up consistently as well while my weight has been stagnant at 180

I will stand by Fish Oil and Flax Seed Oil in high doses to help stiffness, soreness, and inflammation.
I can handle my workout much better with them. I take double the daily dose for both.
To me those are magic beans.

Per the calculator site it should be around 3200 but that is too low. My usual plan is bulk at 3800-4200, maintain around 3500, and cut around 3000-3200

So I am in 'maintainance' on workout days and 'cut' on off days

^This. A lot of people think recomp is where you lose weight and gain muscle at the same time, but like @Supra TT said, that's damn-near impossible to do without AAS. The best way to "recomp" is to maintain your weight and let the fat burn off slowly. All you're doing is cutting extremely slowly so that you lose no muscle mass. Most people don't like to recomp because it takes forever, but the plus side is that you lose very little to no muscle.

But if you lose no total weight that means you are building muscle mass and losing body fat simultaneously and recomping. A slow cut would still mean you are dropping body weight.

And you guys are making it seem like muscle mass melts off in a cut. While I have not been under scientific observation while cutting I feel I lose virtually no mass on a cut. My strength will go down and take 1-2 months to regain (depending on length of cut) but I haven’t seen a substantial loss of mass.

Now your muscles feel limpy with no glycogen on a cut LOL.

This is my first cut I’m going to track numbers better. I am going to see what my lifts are post cut. Maybe I’ll be more shocked with detailed numbers.

    I’m 12 down 8 to go.
