I’m in the same boat guys!!! I’ve got the money saved up and it’s blowing my mind trying to figure out what I want to do. Will the OME 886’s ride rough if I end up NOT adding a SDHQ Mount and synthetic winch??? I’ve pretty much decided on OME coils, medium Dakar’s, 5100’s front and extended rears. Just hung up on the coils!!! I may or may not add a winch!!! I’m running 265 70/17’s and may go 275’s when tired are shot but no bigger. Another thing I hate to deal with the ECGS bushing!!!
Would I be just as well off with 5100’s all around, AAL and a different coil up front since I’m not going to a 285 tire???Any opinions???

They are stiffer but in a good way - meaning i don't get quite as much roll out of the truck and feel that i have more control over it, but at the same time they eat up bumps. I wouldnt consider it less comfortable in the least bit - they are very obviously a step up from the stock sport suspension.

Go with the 888’s if you dont plan on running the bumper with a winch

I’ve had an 06,15,16 Tacoma and all I’ve ever needed was the 5100s I’ve ran all on the top notch. No problems with anything I put 200k on the 06 not a single issue.

I've got 5100s on my 17 right now, and originally I put them up at the 4th notch but the roads here are horrible so it was like a constant rumble strip with every bump. I guess it depends on both the roads you drive on, and the driver's tolerance to bumpiness.

Any of you guys had a needle bearing issue with the 5100’s. I know a lot of people have had to replace with ecgs when lifting

I thought I did when I set my 5100s at the 4th notch, so I dropped back down to stock about a week later and all vibrations are gone. However, my truck still had the vibration in 4hi, which is the opposite of everyone who says they have a failed bearing, so maybe I never had bearing vibrations to begin with.

Here's the real question, do you plan on doing the lift yourself? You have a couple of options. If you're doing the shocks install yourself then I suggest you try it without the bushing first. The reason being is that you aren't necessarily going to have a failed needle bearing. You will void all sorts of warranties by installing an aftermarket bearing INSIDE your differential and if you're okay with that, then go right ahead and just swap it out as a precautionary measure. Taking apart the front suspension more than once isn't then end of the world (I've taken mine apart 3 times in one week lol) Now if you're having a shop install your shocks and you don't want to have to take it back for another install of the bearing after the fact, then yeah I would just throw more money at it and put the bearing in. Like I said though, warranties are voided if anything related to the differential or driveshaft fails as a result of the aftermarket bushing.

I was actually thinking of having them installed at the dealer :crapstorm: I know they’re gonna rip me off but this is my first new car and want to avoid voiding the warranty at all cost and read somewhere on another thread the warranty will cover needle bearing failure if the lift is installed at the dealer. I mostly just want to level it at the 3rd notch I really hate the rake mayyybbee 4th notch but don’t want too rough of a ride

Yeah man, a lot of guys are going to tell you you're crazy for going to the dealer because they'll charge you a lot money, but having the peace of mind on a 40k investment is huge. I say go for it if you got the cash to have them install!

As soon as I got my 15 and 17 the first thing I did to them was get the ecgs bushing installed. Its just worth it. Not having to worry about vibes at all. Lucky for me I have a buddy in raleigh so Im up there quite often. Just swing it by ecgs, guys there are super cool. Thirty minutes and 150 bucks your done.

Will the toyota dealer even be willing to do the install? I know they are pretty iffey on installing anything non factory on the trucks. You could probably get a little mom and pop auto shop to do it for cheap, that it is if you can explain what to them what it is they have to do and how to do it haha.

    Too much.
    I ordered this:

Stage 1 from Rogue. Going to be a few weeks before it gets on. I'm thinking of getting OME 884 springs to go with (not looking for a big lift).

Awesome man! Nice to meet ya! And no the guy didnt put any spacers on at all. You can see where the tires have been rubbing on the uca when turning tight. No biggie really just taking a little black paint of the uca. Not really worried about it because I plan on switching to kings here soon, and new wheels
