Burnished them on the way to work. Going to lunch in a minute, I hope to feel an improvement.

Not completely sure. I dont remember if he mentioned it in the video. I beleive the factory stuff bottlenecks the voltage and this opens it back up. Im in correspondance with mike singer asking about it for myself i report back with answers

Ok I'll wait for you to report back. I was drafting an email now. I think it's bypassing some sensors that the car has for voltage. I'm hoping there is one of these for our trucks.. I've never seen 14v coming out of my alternator.

One post states: FYI: This PCM solution from Mike is only for the Lexus and Toyota platform at this time, apparently.

    So there is hope!

I remember when the voltage regulator was going out on my old truck. Headlights were getting super bright and dimming.

Can a regulator bypass be good for the battery?

I know a guy who has 1 said it was 80 bucks. Says on cold start he sees 15 volts and 14s when warm in a tacoma

I'm not sure if this is bypassing the regulator or just fooling it somehow. I figured if it took Mike Singer a year to design/make and SMD is using it would be more complex than a bypass. But again, not sure and I'm looking for more info about it.

Is he on TW so we can pick his brain?

LOVE the Firestik mounting location. Do you have some sort of write-up for it?

I'm wondering if he's running the stock alternator or some high output alternator.

Unfortunately not, but it's really not difficult. The hardest part was figuring out how to mount it so it wouldn't jack up my fender. I'll create a write up for it after a month or so of trials. If you'd like to know how I did it, I can PM you.

Here is a pic of the inner fender, I think it's the only other picture I took during the install.

I haven't hooked up a CB yet or tested the SWR so I'm sure I'll have to make some adjustments. I will say, it is study. No movement at all between the base and the lower mount and I'm picking up Austin's radio stations in San Antonio now.

    Edit: a few more pics.

Multiplexor. Used an existing bolt and bolt hole.

I originally used a folding mount but I HATED how much it wiggled.
