I wanted to reach out about some feedback to this issue. Essentially when it is windy and I'm on the highway it appears the stock radio antenna whistles. This happens frequent enough that I am looking for a good solution.

I have a 2014 with Sat radio, no nav.

I know the stock one screws off and I would replace it with something with no whistle but don't know any good options while still getting a good radio signal.

    Any thoughts?

You sure it's the antenna? Mine was making a kazoo noise from the front drivers side door gasket.

I had the same issue from the front passenger door gasket. Toyota replaced both driver and passenger gasket under warranty. No issues since. I imagine that is what the OP is hearing.

OP is it a faint tea kettle whistle, or a loud kazoo sound.

The fain tea kettle whistle comes from the hood to grill seal (there is a tsb for this) but it easily fixed with a 1/4in dripper pipe line ran through the top seal of the grill that touches the hood.

The loud kazoo sound is made by the door seals.

It is like a whitsling sound when the wind blows hard. Might be the kazoo sound.

How would I fix this of it is the door seal?

I had the kazoo noise from my passenger front door. Toyota fixed it for free because I complained about it when the truck had less than 200 miles on it. When the tsb was finally released they fixed it. Been a year since and the kazoo noise is gone

I had to do that when the Highlander was 8 years old. Door seal leaked when it rained hard.

Scary. I'm pretty confident the way I did it won't allow any leakage.

Welcome to owning a tacoma. Lol there are fixes for the door seal whistle. I just live with it. It's only at around 85mph

Sounds like the kazoo noise to me. It happens at highway speeds in a crosswind condition. On long road trips I used painters tape over the passenger side door seam before I got the tsb stripping.

I put up with it for a few years before the tsb. I thought the same thing. The kazoo noise was the sign to crank up the radio and jam out!
