I ordered a 2018 off road on Jan 12. I asked the dealer if they would switch out the grill for a Pro grill. They said yes. Today, March 27 my Taco comes in finally and the dealer says I have to buy a new sensor on the pro grill because it wont fit . They want 525 for the grill, 550 for the sensor, and 500 to calibrate the sensor. This can' be true. What do you think World?

Seriously dude find a new dealer no way you should pay more than like 400 for this maybe an extra 100 if you need them to install

Sounds like a shady salesman, unless you heard it straight from the service dept. Either way, sounds like they are trying to take advantage.

If they stick to that story, you could tell them never mind. Call another dealership for pricing on a pro grille installed, or buy the replica. I think then all you need is the plexiglass garnish. There’s several YouTube videos on the grille installation.

It time to find a better dealer for this folk, no calibration is required and sensor garnish is only $50.

Thanks deathray. I'm going to get either my grill like we agreed on in January or my down payment back.

I wonder if they even ordered your grille. Without a Pro VIN, they won't get one, and I'm sure they won't use a VIN from a Pro on the lot without overcharging you. Find a new dealer or go aftermarket if you're ok with it.

Bought this aftermarket PRO grill for $160 on Madhornetsparts.com it comes with the sensor spot you can take out to put in your stock one. TOYOTA emblem is held snugly with 4 screws. Install was 10 mins and has nice craftsmanship. Don’t be a sucker for those insane prices
