That is also what I read. However, what are the odds that 10spd will make it to 250k miles without a rebuild? Or one of the turbos needing to be replaced? Not a concern for everyone but something to consider.

I got the truck thinking it was plenty big in the second row but like I mentioned before I fault myself for not doing the research and taking time to really inspect everything. I got the truck because I actually like the size and I thought it would provide decent mpg/power.
The 10speed is absolutely amazing and the shifts are quick and sharp.

I also thought about this and agree. a lot of these new brands shifting to 9-10 speed transmissions. We are also looking at the new Honda oddessey, it has a 10 speed, not sure what to think about it in regards to reliability but I have no choice. This is how car makers are changing, soon cars will have 12-14 speed trans. I don't plan to keep a vehicle for more than 3-4 years so when warranty is done I'm done. Life is short and I can't worry about a cars reliability. I think people that plan on keeping the cars for a long time might be affected by the extra cost of repair on these sophisticated engines/transmissions. I don't want to know the cost to repair these things.

Thats why bro!!! It isn't a loan its a lease.....You're literally only paying depreciation hombre. Don't look at what you owe, look at your buyout cost in your agreement. I got a 4 year lease on my 2017 TRD OR with Premium Tech, Tow, all the bells and whistles for like $38k when you factor in negative equity.....My buyout will be $25k and I know the trade in values should be slightly above that once I go to trade it in. Just wait until a few months before lease end and I guarantee you'll come out on top.

That's only if you don't factor in that monthly finance charge you're paying compared to the current negative equity you may have, in which case it's likely all a wash or you end up even more negative.

Leases absorb negative equity because the negative is factored into his buyout in his lease contract. Once the lease is nearing the end of term he can trade it like a normal vehicle and pay off the lease while most likely gaining some positive trade equity in the lease.

By negative equity, I was saying at the present time if he were to decide to trade. Sounds like he's 2k in the hole right now which could probably be negotiated. Not knowing his money factor, I'll assume he'll end up paying another 2k (best case) in finance fees in his lease payment over the remaining year and half. He'd likely need to buy it outright and sell it private party at lease end to see that positive equity if they're already low on initial offers. The residual on my '16 DCSB TRD-Off Road 4x4 with prem/tech that I leased in Oct 2015 is $26,980. His current trade-in offers aren't much better than that and he still has ~18 months left.
