Anybody install these on their truck have any tips for the drivers side being so close to the brake lines on the inside of the frame? The passenger side I feel good about but the drivers side I don’t like. I left out like 3-4 bolts until I can figure out how to make them not rub. What did y’all do to make this work?

I have a 2nd Gen, with bolt on Apex sliders. I just separated the brake lines and wrapped them with fuel line.

I have RCI sliders but I don’t recall this being an issue.

Where the bolt would sit inside the frame, I just feel like they are way too close to the brake line the way I saw it. I was hurrying to beat dark so I’ll try again tomorrow but figured I’d consult the masses to see if there was any experienced advice.

I have the RCI sliders, no issue at all. Just give them a little light tweak and you’ll be fine, no need to Hulk smash them, a light tweak will move them out of the way and you won’t have any issues.

I love the sliders. This isn’t anti RCI at all. I have lots of their products. I just want to make sure I am seeing things right.

I also just bolted on a set of RCI Sliders. I was only able to put a few of the 7/16 bolts in place on both the passenger and drivers side. I'm planning on going back through with a smaller grade 8 Bolt like a 3/8" or 5/16, to fill the rest of the spots. I tried putting a 7/16 bolt through some of the holes on the frame and the holes are smaller than 7/16. I think 3/8" should be fine. As far as the bolt on the driver side close to the break line you might switch this one out for a 3/8" as well? I was also thinking of using zip ties to secure the break line so it does not vibrate next to the bolt securing the slider. You can do this by connecting them with a zip tie, and then putting a zip tie around the connected zip tie in the middle to make what would look like a butterfly; technical term in auto repair hah. Also I was planning on drilling out a few holes on the front and bottom of the frame to make sure and secure the sliders as best as possible. I can post some photos of my install when I get back under the truck to finish it up.

You can try that if you please, I use all provided hardware with no problems or issues. Hand bending the lines just out of the way has held up nicely and it works great.

I had the same issue when installing mine. I just bolted them on, put the brake lines back over them, and slid in a piece of 3M 2228 tape in between and after 9 months of them being on, all still looks good!

On some of mine that looked a little close I just flipped the bolt around and put the head on the inside of the frame and they seemed to fit a little better that way. I also replaced all the hardware with the same size but in grade 8 bolts.

I put the bolt through the other way, so only the head is close to the lines then put fuel line around them for added protection.

Not a bad idea may add that to mine.

I like the flipping the bolt around. That makes good sense.
