Thankfully i work in the outdoor industry, yakimas deal is pretty good and the new Dr. Tray looks too good to pass up, crossing fingers that it clears the tail gate... if not then i guess the hunt will continue! infact the Dr. Tray dare i say looks a little nicer than the Kuat and ended up being less expensive with my deal than the kuat. hope it ends up being as nice as it looks!

Does anyone who has a Rockymounts rack know if it can mess up your fork? I have the one that closes over the thru axle and it seems like since it's the only point of contact, if you took a corner too hard or slammed the brakes with your bike in it it could bend/break something... I haven't had any problems yet, but it just seems like a possibility.

Knowing some of the stuff I have put my bike through and come out the other side, I'm guessing you would prob roll your truck before you broke an axle.

This. I can only imagine that under load, your axle is taking a bigger beating with you fully loaded up there as well, railing through corners.

The cable lock cylinder fell off in a parking lot on our Kuat once, they shipped us a new one ASAP for free, it was great!

made my "bike rack" this past weekend and my wife even painted it for me. holds our bikes very well and definitely heavy enough it won't slide around in the bed of the truck. cost me around $36 in lumber and paint.

I'll be installing my fork locks in the bed rails this weekend. I was REALLY hoping to be able to post pics of my new ride but it looks like I won't be getting it until June because money. Either way I'll be rocking my Fuse this spring with no regerts. Question for you guys: Anyone riding the Kona Hei Hei Trail? That's what I'm getting. My major criteria for that is I can get it local and have it built the way I want it and the guys are super cool. Oh, what vendor on here has those brackets that lower where you would attach your fork mounts? Back to the vendor page...

Idk here’s my carbon crank arm after sending it to flat, nearly got seriously hurt from my pedal-spindle-crank arm from snapping off.
    2mpbl08_b1ef8eb8257a541d90e9fef3b77045782b0927cc.jpg34t1jyh_f19fcd2e09296fb5a9cc89e43c7f4b1509b94363.jpg
I’m sure I could break a aluminum crank arm too!ive busted bottom brackets on hard landings and had both pedals fall down,I do like the benifits of carbon at high speeds though, helps a lot with vibration and braking fatigue, however the bike industry prices are just stupid silly these days!

Looks great! Now I have to paint mine.:pout:

My bed rack sits on top of two d-rings in front of the bed. I made 2 cutouts in the outside boards to clear them and as a bonus they double as a 'stop' so that the bike rack does not slide back when accelerating. I see you have a bed mat which probably solved that issue nicely.
